NC dirt roads
« on: March 27, 2014, 03:40:20 PM »
Going out to NC in a couple weeks for my spring trip. Decided to turn the hot rod into a dual sport. Hoping to ride some of the dirt roads through the smokies.

I will be bringing two bike just in case it doesn't work out. 8)

is that an old Jaguar I see in the background?
These people have taught me more about riding than any day spent on a track: Larry B, Tony K, Vince J, Mr. Wonderful, V2Neal, Marty F, Kevin B, Devon W, Ehrich, Mike A, John L, Arnell, Kirk, Ray C

Track days are like climbing the rock wall at REI.
Perhaps I need to stop taking the high road.

Great fun, a very pretty car.

The V-12 alone should keep you busy.

Love the picture of the "Franken-bike" in front of the waterfall :). Everyone needs to ride with Mike at one time in their life. I had the pleasure of exploring the Appalachians with him on last year's STAR rally.
Look up "motorcyclist" in the dictionary and I believe it has his photo.

Thanks for letting me share my trip with you guys. Had a great 6 days of riding, put on about 200 mile on dirt mountain roads. The bike worked good-me not so good (sucks getting old) Put about 1800 miles on both bikes so I got my butt kicked, it was a good butt kickin though.
Stayed in Maggie Valley at a place called Holiday Motel. Very nice people, clean rooms, they cater to bikes and a good price to boot.
Went to the Gap, and the Skyway a couple of times. Rode most of the twisties in NC and even went to Helen Ga, by the way you don't want to go there on the weekend, took for ever to get out of there.
Lots more but this is already-gittin kinda long, wait that's in a song I think. Thanks for the interest.
