Has Duluth Recovered?
« on: March 01, 2013, 01:05:15 PM »
Looking for Mike Duluth on this one.

What is Duluth looking like these days?  ... specifically looking if 210 (Jay Cooke) is being repaired yet.  Are they planning on rebuilding the walking bridge too?

Taking hot laps through jay Cooke with mikey a few times and swinging by the aerostitch store makes for a fun day :)

Don't know what the plan is just yet, but they have not started anything as far as repairing it. Because it is a State Hwy I'm pretty sure it will get fixed, pretty sure it if it were county it would be gone. You can get as far as the campground and headquarters from the freeway but that's it. We didn't realize just how much we used it till it was gone, it is literally a mile from my house, I used to do hot laps through there 2-3 times a week. Most of skyline between 210 and Spirit Mt is gone and alot of that will never get repaired again. You can be sure I will let everyone know when it opens again.

Is that considered county then?  It's too bad because that was beautiful from up there...  (the road was crap tho!)
Those who have actually NEVER tried riding the track could learn a thing or 10 about being a better streetrider; because let's be honest; none of us (Greg) are as great as we think we are. LMAO!

The part of Skyline I'm talking about is all gravel anyway, not the crappy paved part. It would be way cool if they repaved all of Skyline, what a great sport bike road that would be, it's like 20 miles long. To answer your question D, I think Skyline belongs to the city of Duluth, it's part of the park system in town.

Wow.

That's a shame.

I found the following online too:

And thanks for the updates, Mike.

That was a cool read Vander.  Sounds like the whole 210 geology is a unique challenge.  Makes me appreciate that road even more.
