You had your chance.  I was there when the dealer gave you first chance to put a deposit on the one coming to Duc Mpls.   You passed.  You'll have to find who bought that one and get it from them second hand when the next model comes out.

"The Panigale flicks from left to right with the eagerness of an R6"

I'm skeptical about this comment.

Most tests I've read say the Aprilia RSV-4 is the most flickable
of the litre bikes. But none say it flicks like an R6.

Bikes become flickable when their base price gets up to $25k.  :D

I was thinking about the same thing only a little bit lower say $23k. But you have to put on that over priced exhaust system so that is $2k. So your right Paul $25k and you can flick it.

Can't wait for the 2012 litre bike shootouts - Dethrone the S1000RR? At $10K difference, I doubt it!

Unless Kawasaki has the marketing budget of BMW Motorrad, no, you are riding a second class citizen.

It is looking like it is going to be between the BMW and Ducati. If the Ducati comes in at the manufacturer specified weight even though it is likely to be a little shy of the BMW in terms of HP, it could very well be the winner, even in base spec. 414 lb wet, would make the Panigale 10lbs lighter than last year's R6. At 414lbs. it would be roughly 40 lbs lighter than the BMW and would be over 20lbs lighter than the Kaw.

The ZX10R is going to have a tough time competing with these two latest and greatest machines. Were it going to have a good chance of winning, it would have won the 2011 shootouts and would be at least be competing from the reigning champion position.

Well I sure hope they weighed the Ducati all wet. Did you look at the rear exhaust pipe. That thing was made to keep the rider warm that's for sure so your going to need some kind of cooling system.
Third place you say, but then you put in the dollars and then it's right there on top.

 You don't.....well I don't compare a 13,500 bike against a 23,000 bike.

But whatever, magazines pick winners solely based on advertising dollars. All of them are so close in the real world that the winner is really everyone that gets to ride them.

And until I get one of those ducs on my own scales and weigh it back to back to something else--I don't believe for a second it comes in at 414 all wet and ready to ride.
What you just read is based on my experience and the info I have acquired during my life. Yes, I post long responses regularly because I like to fully explain my views. If you don't like it or agree with what I have to say; ignore it. I HATE LIARS ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO PRETEND TO BE YOUR FRIEND!
