There will be a cash settlement down the road.  We all know that.

this is sad......and re-emphasizes the importance of helmets and attention when riding.

I personally am guilty of cruising around, looking at the scenery and enjoying a moderate/below speed limit ride thru cities and kinda depend on the normal flow of traffic, and for people to obey signs and lights, as I absorb the environment.

I do sometimes forget people run lights for multiple reasons.  Wake up call for myself.  RIP rider.

We've all made mistakes and I can't defend his stupid choices he made that day but id really appreciate it if people refrained from calling him an idiot. He was a great guy that made a dumb split section choice to pin it and unfortunately won't ever live to see another day.

Jeff, I won't call him an idiot, but am very disappointed that he chose to endanger others.  That is not something to be taken lightly.  His death is terrible, and I know he was a great and friendly person.

I feel that it is ok to speak out that the decision to "run" was not just poor and negatively impactful for him, but also could have killed someone else.  That risk he took for himself and his safety is ok, but what is not ok is that he could have mowed down my friends or myself by running from the police.

Not cool, and needs to be talked about........because it seems like there are enough people that feel it is ok.

i swore off mini vans also, and protested as my wife forced one into our family.  a year later with 3 kids in tow....there is no comparison when it comes to practicality and fuel efficiency.  it is the first option we choose everytime we go any where due to convenience.
i was hoping to squeeze in a 4dr crew cab or a suburban.  at least for us, those are down the road because both have trade offs, whereas the grand caravan has little tradeoff except the looks.  after a month or two, you really don't care what it looks like due to the practicality.

left brain, cuz the right picture looks like the bull is about to get it on with the woman.

That never happens to me when I ride, so by default, I must be left brain.

I don't always like to over think things.  as I have had less time to ride this year due to kids, i found myself not thinking about the skills as much this year and just enjoying the wind buzzing around my helment, the visual sense of connecting with the land I am riding through, and lastly the addrennaline that occurs just before i lean forward to position my body and drop two gears to attack the next corner.........with no other goals in mind.

there is a time and place for everything.........including learning/improving and also "not learning' and 'not improving".

great ideas thrown out there so far.

General Banter / Re: Duluth flooding?
« on: June 21, 2012, 10:18:09 AM »
Been drivin around, never seen anything like it in my time here. Our favorite road (J Cooke) is pretty much gone. Sky line drive is washed out all over the place, they have some real water falls down town. Most of the roads in and out of Duluth are closed, crazy stuff, I would have never guessed the water would do this much damage. I would think we will need State and Fed help to get out of this one.

Mike, how did your home and land do in this disaster?

motor technology isn't cutting edge on the cruisers (at least not most of them) but there is an undeniable coolness of cruising down the road in a relaxed manner and not wound up like a rubber band.

i love both options...if you can afford it.

I have someone out of Northfield that usually beats all bids by $200.  So get your bids and let him under cut it.  pm me for details.  Also do you know what type of stain you are looking for?  translucent or not?
