GONE, spoken for.....FREE (pick up only - Apple Valley)...cleaning out the garage and have a tire changing setup I used for the last ten years before springing for a No Mar.   Setup bolts to your workbench (one 3/4" hole) and then you clamp motorcycle rim down (no need to remove the disks)  Padded with hose to prevent scratches and have a few plastic rim guards with it as well all you wil need are a few tire irons.  PM me if interested.

I agree the PR is about damage control.  There is nothing in the article that indicates he was a motorcycle officer so who knows about his skill level on a bike...he is just someone riding a motorcycle who happened to be a officer

I agree, even the kickstand is a piece of art.  Ray, did you get a ground level room at Twistar so you can roll it into your room or just going to put it in the lobby for the hotel staff to guard?

I am going to have to go back to Moon Motorsports ASAP and have the seat checked out...the erection option hasn't worked on my k1300s for the last 30 months...need to get IT fixed before the warranty expires!

Most of you don't know me since moving here 5 years ago was only able to make a couple rides per year (plus some of John's Monday rides) due to job demands and I don't do many posts unless I have something worthwhile to add...I don't have a need to pontificate needless ramblings.  Now that my job demands are over I plan on making up for lost time and when I sent my Twistar registration in to Ray I included a note saying that I was available for anything he needed help with before or at Twistar including MAP.  Currently I am building some SW WI routes into my GPS and will be willing to post/lead a couple of rides but one concern I have is about people bitching that I didn't ride fast enough and/or I made a wrong turn along the route.  My pace is +10 to 15 in corners and 8-10 over on the straights....have no desire to wreck or get a reckless driving charge nor do I want anyone riding with me to do so either.  So with that said, if you don't want to ride my pace, practice safe following distances and be able to put up with a wrong turn or two on the route then don't come.  Give new leaders a little slack during their learning curve or you won't have new people stepping up.  Randy

General Banter / Cradar - CRAsh Detection And Response App.
« on: February 14, 2012, 08:03:03 AM »
In the back of my mind when I play around in the twisties by myself is the possibility of an unforeseen incident and how long I might be there.  Ran onto this free android app on another site.  Following is a link for more info http://actionxl.com/CRADAR.html

Top line details:

CRADAR is a man-down application that runs on any Android phone.

CRADAR senses when you fall, waits 30-120 seconds (whatever you set it for), and if it doesn't see you move at least 8 feet, sends a text message to one of your contacts telling them you might be hurt. This gives your contact a chance to call you to see if you're ok.

In the text message is a link to Google Maps with your GPS coordinates.
If they don't get an answer, they know exactly where you are, and have the GPS coordinates so other people can find you too.

I didn't care for MapSource but it was easier than creating a route in Google Earth/Google Maps saving to a kml file then opening up a conversion program and then saving it as a gpx file and then send to the Zumo.  After reading about MicroSofts 2010/2011 Streets and Trips I bought it.  Easy one step process now, create the route in S&T export data as a GPX file have teh Zumo hooked up to the computer and save the gpx file to the Zumo > Garmin > GPX.  I won't even think about going back to Map Source or Google Maps after getting S&T.  Office Depot currently has $15 instant rebate on the $49 cost netting $25.
