General Banter / Re: Need some new boots
« on: November 25, 2010, 08:23:07 PM »
I gave sidi vertigo's they are really comfortable and you can replace just about every part of the boot.  Although they are 475 bucks I don't regret buying them.  They are pretty comfy to wear and walk in, as long as they are adjusted right.

slow, honk, flash lights, swerve, get your shoulder ready ??

Thanks,

General Banter / Re: Should MNMSTA be a members eyes only forum?
« on: November 01, 2010, 05:19:59 PM »
if your gonna lock it to registered members, then why not just lock it for paying members?  then you would have a forum of maybe 15 paying members in minnesota.  Yes Lloyd i am a paying member.  I just dont understand all this 5yr old thinking around here.  It seems like if people dont agree with a particular persons views, then the rampage begins on insulting people and throwing a temper tantrum.  The whole " im not getting my way,  so im quitting" thing is just dumb.  A few, 2 that i can think of due this quite often on here and other boards when called on their bullshit.  Its no big secret who these people are.  Very rarely is anything beneficial contributed to the forum other then personal attacks on people.  An example,  is kinda of like people posting up an invite only ride in a public section.  If its invite only, why not keep it to yourself and those you wish to attend privately.  Sorry another rant,  i know people who wont join any of these boards just because of all the drama that a few bring to the table.

Since your post is once again apparently there to provoke a response.

Congratulations on being a MSTA member. If there was a gold star smiley or something to pin on your chest, I would post it up.

id prefer a cookie if you have any...   :D

General Banter / Re: Route postings that users may not want made public
« on: October 29, 2010, 07:49:19 PM »
christ, what a lame fucking topic.  if you create a route and want it kept a secret, dont share it then. dont do a group ride with other people.  i mean really its pretty pathetic to whine about someone sharing a route.  i have tons of routes from rides ive been on.  none are named, and i have no clue who made em.  i've in the past asked people such as Ray for a copy of a route that i know hes done in the past.  i print it off and throw it in my stack of shit, then when i want to go out and ride i grab a route and go.  its not like any of these roads are a big secret.  anyone that can read a map or navigate google maps can find these roads.  hell ive even grabbed routes from posted rides, even though i had no intentions of going on them at the time.  mainly because i dont care for the group that happens to be going that day.  yet another day i may grab a few people and decide to do it.  does this mean someone should be praised because others have traveled the same route?

Rant on.

As many of you may know, my wife is running for MN House. We just mailed a piece of campaign literature to voters pointing out that her opponent is the least productive legislator in over a decade, having authored or co-authored the fewest number of bills of any full time legislator since 1998.

We are being contacted by people who think this is good. People who don't seem to realize that if you want less regulation, you need to create a bill with less regulation in it and get it passed to replace the existing legislation which has too much regulation. If you want lower taxes, you need to create a bill with lower tax rates. If you want to get dead beats off of social assistance you need to write a bill to change the law so dead beats can't abuse social programs. If you want the thousands of things government does poorly to change or you want government to get out of the way new legislation needs to be proposed to change the way government does things and to get government out of the way. No new legislation, things just stay the same.

What is really funny is these people seem to be the people who are least happy with government and who want the most change, but they think doing the least is good.

If voters don't get the basics on how things get done in government, how the heck can they make decent decisions on who they want in office?

Rant off.

so what issues does your wife stand on? this is what i dont like about politics, all you hear about is what the other guy is doing wrong.

congrats on your new treasure.  that sure is one sexy ass machine.

Hmmm... do mean the ass machine is sexy, or the machine is sexy ass?   ???

Just kidding.  Sort of.  I've heard bikes called "butt jewelry", so "ass machine" wouldn't be too much of a stretch.   :D

i believe you put too much thought into my reply.  :D
either way, i wouldnt mind owning a bike like that.
