New York Times has a visual piece titled Fewer Helmets, More Deaths featuring data plots nationally and from states which have changed there helmet laws.

Yeah, what the issue?  Do you think the peeps didn't die and it is a conspiracy?  (they are all in witness protection programs so they seem dead) 

Do you think people that crash without a helment going 60mph have a better chance at living versus with a helmet? 

If someone hit you on the head with a bat, would it be better with or without a helmet?  Just curious. 

The right to ride without a helmet is a different issue, unrelated to the statistics.
