Looking at Diane's bike this a.m., I realized the rear tire is shot. She has a Zars day coming up and rides in a moderate sport-touring style. Any opinions on a better tire than the slippery stock Dunlop 630?
Should I just put the bike in the back of my truck, drop it out along the road, and collect the insurance and let her get a bigger bike and save the new tire hassle? ;D

Pirelli Sport Demons. Don't cost much, either, as I recall.

Thanks for the replies folks.Think she's going to try (gasp) Pirelli Diablo scooter tires, the forums are giving them good reviews for the money. I'd get the Sport Demons, but the scooter tiires are about $50 less a set and she is cheap. She probably won't know the difference anyway.

Now that you mention the scooter tires, I'm thinking that might have been what I bought. I can't check right now because the bike isn't here, but I remember there not being a lot of choices in 16" tires. Whatever those tires were that I bought, I went through a few sets, but I kept buying the same ones because they worked well. I did get some funny wear on 'em from lots of DCTC riding, but I don't know that any other tire would have been different.
