Off Topic / Re: Discipline yields freedom

I’m going to try and steer this away from the political end of the conversation ….

In motorcycling, for me, discipline yields freedom. Every time I get on my bike there are 15 minutes of “prep” time (30 minutes if I wash it). I get my gear together. Grab my leather and wipe off the bugs, clean the helmet visor, grab the Ipod, get my “mini” wallet, keys …. Yada, yada. All of these steps are therapeutic “disciplines” for me. I’m thinking about, “riding the bike” while doing this prep work. These disciplines, for me, yield the feeling of freedom in knowing I’m prepared to ride the bike.

Greg,
You could cut that 15/30 minutes of prep work/time in half if you would do the cleaning when you get home from the ride!!  ;)

Oh, my bad.....  you are looking to have some pre-ride time thinking about the bike/riding. :)

Anyone interested in doing a "burger ride" today?  No exact route in mind but it would be the western cities county roads(Delano, Watertown, Rockford, Loretto areas, decent amount of twisties) and end up at the Hilltop for a burger/fries.  I'm open to a start time that works for whomever.  We could meet in Burshville at Stormanshttp://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=safari&q=burschville+mn+gas+stations&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq= gas station on county road 19 & county road 10. Pm me if interested.  Moderate pace.

-John

Note: I have not done many lead rides(actually only once and that was in the city and I struggled to say the least...

You haven't had the best burger in the twin cities until you have a burger at the Hilltop in Hanover!  IMO their burgers are the best!!

-John

I'm game for a ride up that way to try a burger!!  I don't know a lot of the roads up that direction so would be nice to learn some good routes.

You up for it sometime John?

Absolutely Mark.

Bike Help / Re: Trailering

I have a couple of Condor Pit stop PS-1500's and am extremely satisfied with them.  One of the best purchases I have made regarding bikes/trailers and highly recommend them.  They do everything just as advertised and then some!

2005 SV650S, 5,1XX miles. Clean title in hand. Extras include Motovation frame sliders, adjustable lowering links(bike is currently lowered 2" in the rear to accommodate shorter person but can be easily changed back to stock height by myself or new owner), new Michelin Pilot Power tires(less than 400 miles), recent oil & filter change, Suzuki tank bra, lower chin fairing(OEM Suzuki accessory).  Reason for selling, wife decided to step it up and purchased a SV1000S.  No disappointments, this bike is perfect!  Located in the west suburb(Loretto, MN).  PM or E-Mail me if interested in taking a look at it. $4000.00

Bike Help / Re: Honda fluids - who stocks locally

I've seen the Honda coolant and yeah, it's blue but if anyone confuses it with the blue window wash....well I guess they deserve to run wash in their radiator.   :D

True that!!

Honda Automotive coolant is blue in color if that matters but I'm sure it provides the cooling capabilties just fine!  Kinda stupid IMO(Honda going to blue in color in the automotive line coolant) because it very closely resembles windshield washer fluid.....
