Check me if I'm wrong Sandy but that caliper is in fact installed backwards right?

No, that rectangular boss under the caliper bolt on the right side (front side) is supposed to be in a slot in the swing arm.  That boss is responsible for keeping the caliper from spinning when it grabs the rotor.  The slot allows the caliper to move forward and back with chain adjustment.  With it loose on top it will stop the bike going forward but the break line would be stopping it going backwards.

That's OK, just use the front to hold the bike from rolling backwards at the stop.  ::)

What that ride your own ride has always meant to me was. Don't ride over your head. Ride within your safety zone.

Exactly, Ride your own ride is a safety reminder.  Don't feel pressured or forced into getting in over your head, know your limits and stay withing them.

Hill country?  That's good to hear, last fall I thought you may be giving up on those all day rides.

I've put on a few hundred miles this year but on short trips.  Longest ride was down around Red Wing a couple weeks ago.  Otherwise I've just commuted to work several times.

Hello fellow south of the river rider.

I was out of town over the weekend so didn't get to ride.  I took my bike to work yesterday and will again today.  Looks like it will be a week or two before we get another chance around here.

Thanks everyone.

I hope to get a bit more riding in this year, and hit it hard in 2017.

Hello all you Minnesota MSTA riders.

My name is Jeff, and I'm a 52 year old married empty nester.  I bought a new FZ-09 in June 2014 and have been enjoying my reintroduction to motorcycles.  It was 27 years since my last one.

I have over 18K miles on this bike in the three riding seasons I've had it.  Probably get another thousand before the snow blower takes over the front of the garage.

There probably won't be a whole lot going on this year but if I don't get to ride with you this fall there is always next spring.
