No.  They were comfortable up to 80º for me. I wore them yesterday on Chris's ride and I had to switch to my warm weather gloves at midday.

Greg

It was a hot one yesterday too.

Greg what do you and Debbi ware under your leathers? I want to get some leather riding pants but don't know what to were under them.

Hanes Boxer-Briefs

My pants are Vanson's with a mix of textile & leather. Leather in the important "contact-points" if you crash, but breathable textile in the not-so-important areas.

Ad doesn't say what season glove they are.  Are they vented for hot weather riding?

100% ban on cell phone use while driving, and that includes "hands-free" devices. Every study I've seen concludes that even hands-free cell phone usage impairs a driver as much as alcohol impairment.

Welcome to the site.
You have a beautiful bike, will we get to see it on the group ride this Saturday?  ;)

Cheers,

Great write up by Darcy Holter in the most recent edition of the MSTA STAReview! Tony Kellen, Roger Reis, Paul Kobo and Ray Kang are also mentioned and their smiling mugs (sans Tony as he's got his helmet on, lol) can be seen gracing the pages as well.

There also is an excellent article that is a must read IMO on page 16. In a nut shell the article talks about how all of us ride the exact way we like to ride, and then therefore by default ..... our way is the best and all others are suicidal maniacs. Keen insight into thinking before judging others riding styles.

Animals are my biggest fear on a bike.

General Banter / Re: Pickup rides
« on: June 29, 2010, 03:18:43 PM »
I just want to encourage people to post their rides here. Pickup rides used to drive the old MN-Sportbike forum back when
it was very active. It was common to see a long ride and a short ride or two posted for every weekend plus a weekday ride
or two. Now things are almost dead here. Mark and I are the only people I see posting pickup rides. Just for the record,
MNSBR rides have dropped off to a trickle and their quality is mostly poor. The only thing keeping this forum going is our
MSTA rides, which most people recognize as being well planned and organized rides of high quality. Sadly there are only
one, sometimes two MSTA rides a month. Nudge your friends to organize a ride and post it here (and anywhere else).
The abundance of posted rides on the ZG forum is a big contributing factor to that forums success in my opinion. Their
forum members step up to the plate, show some balls (or ovaries) and get things done. We can do better than we are doing.

Good post, Tony.

There never is a shortage of opinions on how rides should be handled. It's always easier to critique than offer solutions.

Post up!  :)

I'm probably not the demographic the ad is targeting. I find it mildly interesting as I love good illusionists, but it's also pretty gross.

Welcome Henning! I briefly perused your link over at Advrider.com and found it very interesting. I'll take a longer look when I'm off the clock!  :)

Welcome aboard. :)

Update on my situation.
I have full vision in both eyes now. I have been able to ride a bike to and from the hospital, which is about 5 miles away.
My strength still isn't there yet so it will be awhile before I can do a Slimey Crud type of ride. I'm hopeful my energy returns
sooner or later.

Good to hear, Tony!

*now THIS is a motorcyclist. He gauges his recovery by riding his motorcycle to the hospital*   :)

General Banter / Re: Why are they not wearing gloves???
« on: June 09, 2010, 11:35:48 AM »
Back on topic:

I gotta imagine that if I see someone riding without gloves it means they are either on the bike for their very first season or they hardly ever ride. The one or 2 times Ive ridden without gloves (early in my riding career) I discovered that at least for comfort it's better to have some sort of gloves on. Pebbles thrown up from the road hurt the fingers!  :(

Tony,
I'm relieved to hear your prognosis is good and you're expected to recover. Your consistent positive attitude and joyful personality is needed by all of your friends.  :)

God bless,
Greg
