The sentence makes it sound like an "us vs them" mentality and is putting all motorcyclists into one group.

OK. Now I think I get it.  You would have preferred a lead-in sentence like "Afton Council discusses options to deal with motorcycle noise and excessive speeds."

Note that I never disagreed with the content of the article, just the sentence that would preload the reader to think negatively about all motorcyclists.

Or lead a reader to think negatively about some Afton City Council members.

Here here!!  LOL...well said though.  It's going to be interesting to see what they do.

If they ever repave CR 21 & Stagecoach its going to be even more interesting!!

Most GPS units will keep a record of high speed & such but you'll have to refer to the owners manual to see if yours does.

Hmmmm.....I only see one page in the "Routes" section.

I see the "Tri-State Boogie" route sheets but those aren't the ones I'm talking about.

Where did you find that?  Can you post a link to the page in this thread.

Does anyone by chance have a route sheet for this one?  I looked in the routes section but didn't see anything.  Below is what I had for info on when the ride was done before.  Post up if you know or have a copy.  Thanks!!

I know my Victory is loud so I tend to be cautious with how much I rev it close to home.  It helps that I'm right off a highway so within a block it doesn't really matter anymore.

I do agree though that we all get lumped into general categories by the non-riding public.  I don't think its fair & do try to represent other riders well by not being an asshat when I ride.

Its sort of like being in the military or working in public safety.  The public sees the uniform & if you mess up while wearing it they don't see you as an individual, they just see the entity you are representing in that uniform.

I didn't see any further interest so of course I'm not posting a ride.

However I may be up for riding later in the day on Sunday if anyone wants to.

Maybe a Taylors Falls run or something....get a hold of me via cell phone after noon if interested.

Sorry Tim....I didn't mean for my comment to take it that far off topic.
It did spark some interesting conversation though & good points by Vander & Matt.

No worries BTW Matt...I know what you meant by your comment.
I was just countering it w/some humor...you did hit it on the head with the next one.

It's all about looking cool to motorcyclists.  The guys that wear bandanas don't read the news or care.

That's sort of a hasty generalization Matt.
I get what you are saying but it isn't always the case.

I rode most of the day today with a bandana on leaving the helmet at home.
I did wear gloves & my jacket but just felt like not wearing the helmet.

I don't do that too often but it is nice to change it up now & then.
I wouldn't say I do it to "look cool" & I do read/watch the news as well as care about safety.

It's just a conscious decision & calculated risk I take on occasion.
I have to admit....it did feel odd & I felt a bit naked at first.

But like I said I don't do that often.

I forgot about Twistar since I can't make it.  Sun is the only day I have free that weekend.

So there's three interested so far....if we get more I'll get the "official" thread started.

General Banter / MN State Boogie Ride Question
« on: May 10, 2012, 05:31:01 PM »
I have it on my calendar that there is a MN State Boogie Ride planned for Sunday May 20th.

Does anyone know about this or did I just move it to this May since I missed it last year when people did it?

But hey if people are interested in doing a ride like that on that day post up here & if we get enough interest I'll start a new thread in the rides section.

We've been getting a lot of requests for work lately but still have plenty of room on the schedule to take on more.

Don't forget we also do residential & commercial lock work, set up master key systems for rental properties, & sell a variety of safety & security products.

I recently did some of my own price shopping on some basic jobs & consistently our prices were much lower than any of the places I spoke with.

I try my best to keep up on PM's but the fastest way to find out more info is to either visit our website below or call 651-428-0588 & talk to Mark.

Thanks for considering M&S Locksmith and for checking out the thread!!

Very nice Vince...congrats!!  Can't wait to see it in person.

As for the drag race...conditions ideal for each, I'd bet it would be close.

Toughest part would be keeping the ski's/front tire on the ground!!  LOL
