Headed to Breitbachs in Balltown, but the ferry was closed so we went to Plan B, which had us eating in McGregor and rolling north on 76. Waved at the ice cream eaters in Rushford. Stopped at the Amish house ourselves.
Highlight was watching Tony wick it up on the sweepers heading out of Hammond! I'm thinking that he's done that a time or two before. ;)

sure was a nice day, great weekend!!
man that waffle cone was good. lol
-
Ah yes, I thinking Tony starts drooling when we approach Millville just for those uphill sweepers...
Lunch was pretty dang tasty and so were the roads we rode the whole weekend.
Good thing Paul was in front of me on 76, I might have started dragging parts on the PC800. Much fun on a great road.
woot!
Oh, nice bike Powerhouse

The ST gets mighty heavy on the tight twisties on 76. I also keep the death of that rider who went over the line and into a truck on the back of my mind.
What I like about the "long way through Iowa" route is the variety of curves pretty much all the way from Spring Green to Zumbrota. Virtually all the route is lightly traveled (no cager congestion.)
I'm still bummed about the Ferry being closed and not being able to hit Brietbachs. Oh well, that will be next year.

Very nice ride hme for me as well. Great pavement, few cars, nice speed through the sweepers. Nice riding with Joel & Vince as they hustle along quite nicely but not at "LUDICRIS SPEED" (well Vince may of done some of that late in the day on Saturday on his Harley... ;-)
1100 mile weekend - Great time!
Too bad a couple had to peel off early - they missed some nice roads....
Thanks to Larry/Ray for putting the event together and Larry for the great route on Saturday and Ray for the great routes to and from MN!!

I had a great time all the way around. Thanks to everyone who make Twistar one of the best events I attend. Good people, good food, and great roads. Does it get any better? 8)

Yes PK has a nice route back from Spring Green every year. The ferry is always a crap shoot, but PK always has a plan B.
-
In the past, I have called ahead to confirm the ferry but I did not this year because I didn't realize the river was technically above flood stage. I won't repeat that mistake again.

Did you see the sign on 35 that said 'Cassville Ferry Closed'?
I did but figured you knew better.
It's still a nice ride into town anyways.
-
No I didn't. Why would I be looking at signs when I know exactly where I'm going? :D But it wouldn't have mattered at that point because we needed the fuel and bathroom stop in Cassville anyway.
-
When we were in town I asked a local about the ferry. They never heard of it and it was only a block away. LOL.
-
They must have thought you asked where you could find the local fairy?
