Z1000 is at Lloyds.

Been doing a lot of work on the pit bike. New LED wiring kit and tail light and a bunch of other little things in the garage.

Oh. So it doesn't have like a derailleur or something of that sort to move between gears while riding.

Does seem like a cool idea though!

I got sprint. No delays more than a minute or two.

Seems to happen more if you turn your phone off or run out of the service area (obviously).

Maybe its possible you are riding out on backroads and get sent a text when you are out of service and it just delays getting to you because it couldn't get to you at the time.

Personally I would go with a Drz400 for a true adventure bike. Plenty capable off road. Dead Reliable. and Handles the highway a lot better than people think. Can be relatively comfortable with a seat concepts seat cover.

Lets be honest, are you really going to want to ride off road on some big heavy "adventure" touring bike? I bet 95% of those bikes have never even seen a dirt road.

Riding with a passenger on the drz sucks though. You have been warned.

We rode through a foot and a half puddle after the twisted addiction ride saturday and man what a rush that was. It was pouring rain and I didn't see the puddle till I was just about in it. Wish I had it on my gopro.

who really cares if he was wearing or not?  odds are he lost it during the crash.  isn't the real story of excessive speed, in bad conditions, from a veteran rider of bikes, that now forces his family to deal with his decisions?

(ninja edit........i retract this statement as i didn't read the comments above clearly.  i agree it would be nice to know if helment technology could be improved or safety could be improved in some way to minimize the impact.....sorry.

i too feel for Andy's family.  because there are no good answers for them.  all answers are futile.

Like I said it would be nice to know the whole story not just some line of Crap that the news put out just to be the first to break the news Story on the tv.

Maybe he rode and hit one of the small potholes between the lanes and lost it.
Maybe his helmet was strapped on the back of the bike and broke off.
Maybe a car cut him off and he swerved and hit a pothole under extreme breaking.

All I'm saying is that before people make big accusations and start pointing fingers let's get some real evidence. For all we know they could have been riding in 2nd gear and some old lady thought it "sounded like they must have been going well over 100mph" therefore that's what all the news stories are going with now.

I checked out his FB page and it's clear Anand ate, drank and slept motorcycles.  It appears one of his bikes is a Repsol replica (not sure the real thing or just a home-made knockoff but it looked like it had a ton of aftermarket.)  It's a sad deal when a dude loses his self restraint while the roads are in dangerous condition for bikes.  I'm also peeved that his "friend" was so chicken shit to ditch the scene of his friend's tragedy.  Pretty sure he will be turned in since no doubt they are in a circle of riders.
It was a real Repsol 1000RR.

I met Andy at first thursdays back in September and ended up hanging out with him almost all night. Real likeable guy who used to race bikes back in New York and came here to MN for work.

We only did a few group rides together but no one ever had any problems with him or his riding. Guess he just made a bad judgement call and unfortunately it cost him his life.

I am very interested to see about this helmet thing too.  Some said he wasn't wearing a helmet, others said he was but it broke off, others said people on the scene took it off after he crashed... Sooo much misinformation going around from the news.

That would be very disappointing. It is a beautiful area to ride.
