Group ride leaders are just hard to find, I'd say.
It takes a lot of work, and it is very often thankless (even open to criticizing).
So many people ask me at bike nights and events, "oh so you must like leading routes doing rides huh?" well no not really, but if I don't lead no one else will. lol

It kinda sucks because there are so many people that know great routes and rides but just don't wanna step up and lead or are too busy to get out. The few rides I've done with other people leading this year (TK's ride a weekend or two ago to get taco pizza and TWISTAR and a few other's here and there) were great rides and we had a lot of fun riding some new roads. I wish we could do more.

And then you get certain people like Guzzi john who leads routes during random times of the week day when the rest of the world is at work and doing all that nonsense.

Construction traffic on a bike = suicide

Rode to Alexandria for a CMA rally with BusaDave and rode around a bit after for some photo tagging. Did around 400 total for the weekend.

Man it was windy saturday!

;D

Well I like the new tech they have, the riding position and the refinements.  I'm trying not to go full cruiser, but it seems that my wife is not interested in 2up on ANY sportbike (even an FJR).

They seem to have SOME curve carving ability, no?  More than an HD or VTX, at least...?
Take an ST bike out for a spin with her. Something with a backrest. Shell see there not bad. She might realize how Much comfier they really are compared to cruisers.

The confusing words, "crashed with the patrol in pursuit," are from the writer at the Star Tribune.

No one ever accused me of being an English Major.  :D
No one *has* ever accuse me

:p

I just want to keep that line of respect considering the circumstances.

I'm just sick of seeing all these comments on the news pages talking about "those stupid reckless bikers" and "serves him right" and stuff along those lines. It's easy to hear and make judgements when all you hear is the news story but actually knowing and talking and laughing with the guy gives you a really different perspective.

My thoughts go out to the car driver as well as the troopers that chased him too. This crash definitely didn't just effect him

It makes it sound like he ran into the police car.

Thanks Bee.

What he did was wrong and we all have to suffer the consequences for our actions.

A lot of people agree with me that something like this wasn't in his personality and no one really knows why he ran. Maybe he had no insurance, maybe he had expired tabs or maybe he just got spooked. We don't know. Usually the news mentions details like this, we'll just have to wait for the police report to know for sure.

We've all made mistakes and I can't defend his stupid choices he made that day but id really appreciate it if people refrained from calling him an idiot. He was a great guy that made a dumb split section choice to pin it and unfortunately won't ever live to see another day.
