General Banter / Jacket cleaning/conditioning - $40
« on: March 20, 2013, 09:31:24 AM »
It's a little late now for this particular offer, but keep this in mind for next season...

Barnacle Bills Racing Leathers out of Springfield, KY offers a pre-season special on cleaning and conditioning your jacket/pants or full suit for $40.  They also do custom work (race leathers) as well as repairs, patching, alteratations, change/add lettering and sponsor patches, and cleaning and conditioning.

http://www.racingleather.com/repairs.html

I sent my 2pc to be cleaned/conditioned and had the speed hump foam replaced as it was basically disintegrated.  They can also do repairs to gloves.

Just thought to pass it on!

Is it time to ride yet?  huh?  huh?  is it, is it?    :P

Welcome!  Definately look into some electric gear as that will lengthen your riding season on both ends significantly.  I currently have a jacket liner and that keeps me toasty even on days that dip into the 30's and without the added bulk of layers, I don't look or feel like the Michelin man.  ;)

Most of skyline between 210 and Spirit Mt is gone and alot of that will never get repaired again.

Is that considered county then?  It's too bad because that was beautiful from up there...  (the road was crap tho!)

As a side note when loading, you will want to utilize a way to have the tail-end of your truck lower to help reduce the chance of bottoming out when loading.   A nice thing about a ramp this wide is you are able to walk it up and/or down.  (I ride mine up when loading and walk it down when unloading)

I normally load at the end of my driveway and drop the rear wheels off of the curb.  Works great.  Also, since my bike is longer than the box of my truck, I do have to use a tie town strap to secure the tailgate closed.  I've never had any issues and I've hauled bikes from here to Texas.

I use this type of ramp.  Fold it up & slide it in next to my bike.
