I'm good most weekdays. Never on Tuesday though because I attend the
Hooky Tuesday rides.

" We went on that group ride Sat. and 4 of the 5 bikes took turns being the leader so no one person had the burden on them the entire time and that seemed to work very well."

I agree. Greg and I have been encouraging this for a long time.

This looks like a great deal. Surprised somebody hasn't jumped on this. I'd be all
over it if I didn't already own one Italian.

Welcome! Yes, Vander is around here somewhere. I'm guessing that BMW was bought from Moon. I've purchased a couple of bikes from them. They are one of my favorite dealerships.

There were only two of us on the Hooky Tuesday ride this week. We only had two on my Summer Solstice ride. I don't see that many participated in the Rockton BBQ ride. So are rides too long? Too short? Go in the wrong direction for people?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm not seeing many rides posted this season. I know Jon and Mark seem to be missing in action and they organized rides often (Frontier ride, Ely run etc.).  Still there are a lot of seasoned riders capable of organizing and posting a ride now and then. If you have been on this forum awhile you might remember a time when we had rides posted for five days in a row.
Any suggestions for getting more rides posted would be appreciated.

Very sad to read this. Especially since they are now enjoying success on the track.

Welcome! If you are ever off work on Tuesdays check out the Hooky Tuesday ride. It runs south into Hammond, Zumbro Falls and Mazeppa. The route is in the ROUTE section. This ride goes every Tuesday (weather permitting).

"From 2010 through 2012, there have been 16 traffic fatalities in Minnesota involving collisions with deer, according to the state Department of Public Safety (DPS)."

This is a disturbing statistic. That's more Minnesotans killed by deer than Killed by the Taliban, Al-Qaeda and all the other militant Islamist groups combined. Our Department of Homeland Security needs to do something about this. We got rid of the buffalo, we can get rid of deer.

This one did not involve a motorcycle.  However it's potentially an important lesson as it appears the semi trailer went over the centerline of Hwy 76 near Houston at mile marker 16.  My mapping program shows MM16 is in that really twisty section.  It's not hard to imagine the trucker did not use the shoulders to keep the trailer within his lane.  A reminder to always be vigilant for this situation on a motorcycle.

I was down at the Hiawatha Rally when that happened.  Some folks had trouble getting to the rally because the police had Hwy 76 completely shut down.

That super twisty stretch with blind corners on Hwy 76 is a blast but does make me nervous.  Now that it has been resurfaced it is very smooth. There just isn't room for tractor trailers to negotiate it without crossing the center line. There  just isn't much of a shoulder on the east side.

I was chasing Vince on the Dragon a few years back and we had to come to a complete stop to allow a big rig to negotiated a corner as it came at us. We are lucky Vince saw it in time.

Encountering a big rig in a blind corner has always been one of my nightmares.

Welcome! I think I'm on another forum with you. See you on a twisty road
sooner or later.

We saw 3 sportbikes coming at us. The first two were close and the 3rd was maybe 100 - 200 yards back. They looked like 600's but can't be sure. Omari may have been already crashed before we saw the 3.

Anyway, R.I.P. Omari.

I was in Bart's group riding Hwy 60 westbound just a few hours before the
reported fatality eastbound on 60. There were a lot of bikes out Tuesday and we saw sportbikes coming at us on 60. Anyone know what kind of bike Omari was riding?

Tony
I believe Omari had a white R6. Wow, nice guy. I last saw him at the Motorcycle Show.
RIP...

Thanks Jamie. That confirms what I heard from someone else recently. I am certain that we saw Omari's group on Hwy 60 Tuesday. It was hard to identify bike types because the closing speeds were so high.
