Title: New 2011 bikes
Post by: flyinlow on October 05, 2010, 08:11:06 PM
The new Kawasaki's were announced at the dealer meetings today. The ZX-10R looks good, and they also introduced a Ninja 1000, essentially a Z1000 with full fairings. It looks good and has a good price point.

The new GSXR 600 is 20 pounds lighter and 750 is 17 pounds lighter than the previous models, and both have the Showa big piston forks and radial calipers from the 1000

Ducati added a white with red frame and wheels color combo on the new 848Evo, changed the colors on the Streetfighter and changed the 1198S.  The standard 1198 adds Ducati Traction Control (DTC), the Ducati Data Analyser (DDA) and the new Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) fitted as standard equipment. The 1198S is now the 1198 SP, which enhances the previous 'S' version with the above mentioned standard equipment (DTC, DQS, DDA) plus an Ohlins TTX rear shock, slipper clutch and aluminium fuel tank in addition to the usual Ohlins front suspension, forged Marchesini wheels and carbon fiber parts.

Even with the extra goodies, the new Ducati 1198 SP is also a bit cheaper than last year's model.

Lots of interesting new bikes.  Both astounding power and technology.

I'm liking that ZX10R. They claim a 22 lbs reduction in weight.  ;D

The 848 EVO looks great in white with a red frame/wheels.

Figured you would like that ZX-10, what do you think of the Ninja 1000?

I think the Ninja 1000 looks like a good sport-touring bike. I hope they can sell enough of these to justify its existance.

I saw the Ninja 1000 and immediately thought that it should have been the VFR replacement instead of the hobgoblin Honda actually released....  It does look nice though.
