Your rides are a perfect introduction to the area; not too fast and good routes.  If you can ever talk yourself into a weekend ride I bet you would get takers.

And giant sweet rolls.

Rosi in Houston retired upon reaching 80 years old and closed her restaurant.

There is a passage in the book I recall from reading it in high school where a specific maintenance task is stymied by a stuck screw.  He is trying to get a side cover off. I enjoyed the recognition that a small part can be very valuable.

“Normally screws are so cheap and small and simple you think of them as unimportant. But now, as your Quality awareness becomes stronger, you realize that this one, individual, particular screw is neither cheap nor small nor unimportant.

“Right now this screw is worth exactly the selling price of the whole motorcycle, because the motorcycle is actually valueless until you get the screw out."

Imagine if you will, you were riding your motorcycle in the above scenario...

I suspect we have all had this experience at some point.  It is one reason I practice threshold braking every time I go out on a bike.  So far, braking hard and turning right onto the shoulder has worked when I am either on a bike or in a car.

I hate it when someone in our group passes on a blind hill or corner, forcing oncoming traffic to brake and turn on the shoulder.  It endangers everyone, including those of us in the correct lane behind them.  But I have been guilty of some really stupid passes, too.

Racer's tape makes me look faster.

It is like playing for an audience.  It sounds like I play much better when my audience has been drinking.

Following a car wearing race tires throws an incredible amount of rubber chunks and rocks into the front of the car.  My Z06 has a good number of rock chips in the paint as well as a fairly chewed windscreen.

I have yet to attend a track day where one could leave a bra on the front of a car.

So yep- several decided to run straight up 35....OMG I would not do that from south of LaCrosse even if you paid me!

I started out with my bad rear tire thinking this would be the best plan to get home, but got bored quickly.  I stopped at the first gas station, put 45psi in the rear, and got back on better roads.  I stopped every half hour just to make sure the tire was fine (it was).

As it turned out, most of the rear was just at the wear bars, but there was a foot plus strip where the cords were just below the worn rubber.  Everything looked fine until I saw the heavy wear section.

Excellent suggestion.  I put a double-bubble screen on my sport bike thinking any extra protection, albeit small, would be good.  As it turns out, I like the feel of the stock lower screen better.  I was very surprised.  The stock screen is back on.
