General Banter / Cell carriers questions please.
« on: June 09, 2011, 05:18:16 AM »
My current phone company is att and they have a huge coverage hole where we like to go. My wife and I are kicking around new phones and are considering going with Verizon. Does it make sense to change companies because of reception issues down there?  Has anyone else done this or considered it??
My current plan from the way days of the past is about $50 per month better, both with smart phones. It would cost $500 or so per year more to switch. It sure seems like the V guys always have good reception, sprint seems decent, att isn’t terrible but I sure have gaps down there. Att sees a new nelson tower towards the end of the year, sweet; I can text inside with ice cream.

Question is Sprint, Verizon, or stay with what I have?  Watching weather was great a few weeks back, helped stay dry. My other thought would be mechanical issues, including a crash. No coverage to me = no help if needed.

Thanks much for the time,
Joel

General Banter / looking for pants and need some advise please
« on: March 07, 2011, 04:59:48 PM »
??? Jackets are rev'it ignition and a first gear kathmandu, as some know i ride in jeans and redwing work boots, everything else is good i think. Looking for a pant for rides, not so much commuting. Thoughts are say a rev'it gear or some others, first gear ht air, Olympia air glide3. Looking for feedback from you guys for what works, i know my "regulars" like leather from what is being worn. Venting and comfort is important to me. these are 200+ for the pant or so, would hate to learn 10 feet into something bad that i made a bad choice.

boot advise would be great too, thats next i think. Nothing to crunchy i think though.
thanks so much for the time, and any input would be great.

General Banter / spring time, looking for 2up help
« on: January 12, 2011, 02:34:11 PM »
looking to get my wife on the back of my c14 this spring. i have never driven, and not sure she knows how to ride. My concern is that the first stop sign we come to we tip over and push the bike home. on an occasion i must turn the bar slightly or get distracted and have to catch it leaning. other times i stop and can sit there with no feet. not sure what the difference is but would feel like a tard tipping over a few blocks from the house with her.
Can anyone advise or assist a pair of newbies trying to ride together ?? would her riding with someone experienced with 2up give her a feel for what to do, or is that a ton to ask for the driver ?? I got a butt cheek chewed slightly for her not riding with me since i got the new bike for "us"  :D just the other day.
I trust you guys and have learned quite a bit in the short time riding together. I am all ears on how to do this successfully so we can have fun together.

Thanks tons,
Joel
