Title: Harbor Freight motorcycle lift
Post by: Stinger on April 10, 2012, 10:57:48 AM
They are on sale this month for $419 from $599

They are rated for 1000lbs and I've had mine for a few years.

If you would rather stand and change the oil, brakes, tires, or anything else on your bike then you need this in the garage.

I bought mine on 11/21/2009 for $299.94 including tax.  I don't know what the tax rate is in So. St. Paul, but that should make it just under $280 before tax, so look for that coupon.

I took the front wheel vise off right away, although I don't remember exactly why.  Probably because it made it about impossible to use a front stand.  I mounted a wheel chock on there once but took it off, probably for the same reason I removed the vice.  What I really need is some tie-down points that stick out a bit from the bed and a quick-release system for the chock.

The bed it kind of wobbly with a heavy bike on its sidestand.  It doesn't really move much except when you first lift the bike.  Then the far side goes up first, ahead of the side with the sidestand's weight on it.  Seems kind of unstable, but probably isn't as bad as it feels.  Doesn't feel wobbly once the bike's up high.

I sure do like working on the bike on the lift.  I was used to sitting, crouching, and bending, but this is nice.  Sometimes I use a stool and sit beside the bike while cleaning an engine or a swingarm or a wheel.
