Do you want people to remember you, or are you hoping they won't?

I remember when Robert Ogden said he was on WS, and Dennis Sullivan wondered if WS stood for wussy.

H7 bulb 12V/55W

When can I come and see you? It's been awhile, you used to be my best riding bud  *sniff*

I think Sandy is your best riding bud now, Jeffie!  :D  But we will have to get together.  I'm not real familiar with H7 bulbs and sockets, but if I can find a pair of sockets, male and female, I'll make you a plug-and-play relay kit!  And then we'll go ridin'!

Bike Help / Re: Brake Rotor Turning
« on: June 03, 2010, 12:08:32 PM »
I thought that no one turns motorcycle rotors because they're so thin to begin with.  At least I thought that's what I'd heard.  But lots of things I think I know aren't really so.  Are they really worn so unevenly that they need to be turned?

P.S. Nice seeing you (and your bike) at BIR Monday, Brian.

I'm inept at all things electrical. Not a clue. Took me a LONG time to wire up heated grips on the FJR years back and that was a rheostat straight to the battery. I couldn't wire up a relay if my wifes life depended on it. If I could do any of that stuff, I would have done a Stebel horn a long time ago. So its gotta be simple for a simpleton...like plug and play.
I remember those Hella's slicing through South Dakota plains a few years back!
Thanks for your help Brent!

Jeffy, Does your bike use H4 bulbs?  If so, check this out:

http://easternbeaver.com/Main/Products/H4_Kits/h4_kits.html

I've heard good things about this guy's products.  He's got some connections to get this stuff shipped from Japan (where he lives) quickly.

If your bike DOESN'T use H4's, then you should ride down here and we'll have a relay installing day.

I've been looking for 3 years since I commute both to, and from, work at 4:30 and 5:30 AM. I've been unwilling to spend the huge dough for H.I.D. and VERY unwilling to spend big $$$ on PIAA lights that are basically automobile headlights...
  So I found these---   http://www.visionxstore.com/product_info.php?cPath=45&products_id=403

Lifetime warranty. I'm wondering if anyone here runs them, or knows someone who does. I'm ready to pull the trigger, but I thought I'd check here first. With the diversity of riders I just can't pass up using you guys and gals as a data base.

Three thoughts:

1. Put a relay on each of your current headlight beams if you haven't already.

2. Hella FF50s.  Used to be able to find 'em on eBay for under $50, now they're closer to $100.  The closer to your eyes you can mount 'em, the better they'll work for you.  Not sure what mounts are avaliable for the GS, but I'd try to mount 'em close to my headlight or higher.  I know there's a legal limit.  Get an Auto-Switch.

3. I have no experience with them, but I hear of people getting good results with some of the >$100 HID setups.

Used to have his phone number, but can't find it right now.

Also, for the record, Kyle Ohnstad does a lot of painting.

Bike Help / Re: Bad Performance
« on: April 13, 2010, 04:52:40 PM »
Question for you all! I was riding today and as I came into a corner about 60mph, I noticed that my bike didn’t want to respond. It was like I was in to high of a gear but my RPM were in 10,000. Not sure why it was performing like that. It only happened once and I’m not sure if I should be concerned or not.

They all do that.

Happy Bday Ray.  Congrats on surviving to the half century mark.

Let the party begin --

Happy Birthday, Ray!

(Tony, do you really have two 6Rs?)

I guess this last year was the big 50...all downhill from here  :'(

I didn't know Ray had birthdays.  I thought he was, like, timeless and ageless, y'know?

Happy Birthday, Ray!

It says to use my real name. I'm Ernest. Nobody calls me that. I go by Tony or TK. I'm mostly on the MN-Sportbike and ZG Forums. I'll miss the MN-Sportbike
Forum :( This forum looks much like the MSTA National Forum, Sportbikes.WS, ZG, Sporttouring.Net, etc.  I'll try to adapt to it.

Hey, Tony.  I can hardly believe you told everyone your real name.   :o  You'll always be Tony to me.

Do you mean you'll miss the Yahoo! MN-Sportbike group?  I think I might know what you mean.  I would prefer to get emails.  It might be this forum's saving grace that I get email notifications of new posts, though.  I rarely think to go online and check for new messages at the 20 or so forums where I'm registered.  And when I do check in, I feel like I've walking in on the middle of a conversation.  This forum also makes it easier to find the messages I haven't read.  I didn't see this right away, but I have learned that I can click on "Show unread posts since last visit" in the upper right-hand corner, under my username, and then click on the word "New" in each topic to see each new post.

Happy Spring!

Haha, Ray must be messing around.  I saw "New" show up in my subject, then it disappeared.

"New" just means there's a post in the thread that you haven't read.  Once you've read it, it's not "New" anymore.  Damn kids, you're supposed to be able to figure this stuff out.

<snip> I own three bikes currently, a 2000 BMW R1100RT (commuter), a 2005 ZX-6R (track bike), and a Suzuki DR-650 (hot weather/gravel roads).

Now THAT is a smart assortment of bikes.

I've got an RT-P that has been in need of a transmission (don't dare say 'tranny' around here) swap or repair for two years -- and I even have one that could be swapped in.  My R6 is street legal, which is just another way of saying it's one good crash away from becoming a track bike, but I like touring on it, especially in hot weather.  I don't have a dual sport, but I ride Debby's F650 sometimes.  Truth is, she kinda lost interest in it when she got the FZ6, so I put myself in charge of exercising it.  (I hate the seat on that bike, and the suspension needs help, but it's a fun bike to ride.)

What's it mean when Sanders posts,  "Honey, I'm Home" and Brent is the one who responds?
It means Pat's gonna be jealous.  Or at least that's what I was hoping for.
