General Banter / 2019 COTA Apr 12-14
« on: November 21, 2018, 12:51:55 PM »
I plan on going and have never been to this event.

When tickets are available any recommendation on which ones, any particular sections or is general fine? Must get VIP?

Plan on trailing the bikes most of the way down and then ride a few days before around the Hill Country. So any recommendation on where to stay for the event?  Close by or is riding in OK and not a major hassle.

The Honda Pacific Coast motorcycle...

Not mine but I know you are envious. There are three currently for sale in Minnesota but a recent addition might be a tasty deal to get in on a great bike at Carousel Motor Group in Maplewood

Ray it might look nice with the other Red bikes.

Routes / WI Dual Sport with Snake Creek & Trout Valley
« on: August 30, 2013, 10:37:31 PM »
Here is a route from Ellsworth WI to the Pickle Factory in Pepin.

It's a 115 mile round trip on pavement, dirt roads, minimum maintenance roads, and possibly a water crossing or two.

The file also has the layout of Snake Creek and Trout Valley OHV areas.
You should have a MN OHV sticker if you plan on riding these areas. It helps pay for these areas for us to ride.

They are on sale this month for $419 from $599

They are rated for 1000lbs and I've had mine for a few years.

If you would rather stand and change the oil, brakes, tires, or anything else on your bike then you need this in the garage.

General Banter / Dana Sawyer - MSTA Founder
« on: July 19, 2011, 02:05:23 PM »
From the MSTA national forum:

Quote
It is with a sad heart that I report MSTA Founder Dana Sawyer passed away at his home in South Carolina on Sunday July 10, 2011. Dana's vision was to bring together liked minded motorcyclist into a community of friendship for the enjoyment of all. I think a fitting close can be found in an article that he once wrote:

I end this article with a comment from my first newsletter article: A person with true friends is rich indeed. My association with motorcyclists through the years has endowed me with many wonderful friends, some of whom I see only once in a great while. However, this is truly one of the benefits of riding out into this country of ours! I hope to meet each one of you in the coming months (and years) and I trust that you will form some lasting friendships as a result of belonging to the Honda (V-4) Sport Touring Association.
Be careful out there and God Bless.
Dana (the Fossil) Sawyer….Lynn and Laura also

I lift my glass and toast you Sir, for without you I would not have made some of the friends I have made...your wish was fullfilled for at least one....

Michael

The Honda Pacific Coast got me excited about riding again 13 years ago. I still had my Maxim 750 and was waiting for the right PC800 to come along. I was on the PC800 email list for about 1.5 years before I got my '98 PC800 in the Spring of 2000.

Because of Dana I was turned onto the HSTA and joined the club. Started riding with the local group and realized what motorcycling was really about... great roads, great times, and most important great friends.

thanks all

Introductions / The original Roger
« on: March 17, 2010, 01:25:48 PM »
Funny how the introduction states; Please let us know your real name so we can connect it with your online name.

Everybody knows you remember people by what bike they ride or claim they have like, "That's Tony the guy with the 996" or "That's Roger... he rides a 929 mostly but also has a PC800"

 ;D
