I only know one guy who rode one and he said it was a "not good" street bike not because the bike is bad but because it just is a bit much to ride on the street. Not real sure what that meant but looks like some others have said it's probably just uncomfortable. That can be subjective.
I second that they are one of the best sounding bikes in the world and they look great. However, be prepared to look for gas often. Those and the VTR1000 are thirsty bikes.
I'd keep the stock gearing and step up your profile of your tire to a 55. Give you a bit more raise to your rear and they have and the profile will also aid a lighter turn in feel.... the tire will be taller, a steeper roll off.
From your comments about enjoying being in 3rd in the twisties, you might enjoy a lower gearing so you could stretch that gear out a bit longer and ease up it's midrange. And give you better mpgs for the slab ride home!!
I been there once for a few laps and it was dead on a saturday. Had a loud bike at the time so I didn't feel comfortable being there and figured the cops would be called by the nearby neighborhood! It's a fun loop I had forgotten where it was.
The first one Denyse posted for $127 has a 1200lb weight load and I think combined with finding a grade to back the truck up to would be easy to do yourself. Certainly get one that is wide enough to straddle your bike or walk beside. With the C14 or my FJR you would certainly be straddling it going up and down.
