I do like riding with and watching people who ride faster than me.  Gives me some confidence that my tires will stick and that a little more speed won't necessarily cause me to crash.

Brent
but what if 1) they have better tires?  2) your bike has less ground clearance? or 3) they are just more experienced?   Letting someone pull you into a faster pace than you normally ride might be hazardous to your health.

Of course, I've seen you rock that 250 oil burner at DCTC, so you might just be able to do anything you set your mind to  ;D

Most people miss the fact that you can use the hitch insert both directions, to lift or lower the ball from the receiver height.   With all the different options at Northern Hardware, you should be able to figure out the parts to get to the ideal height.

My kendon tows quietly when level, my impression is that there is less weight on the tounge when it is tipped back, which can cause the ball to rattle in the ball receiver.

Go to Northern and try all the options.

I wonder what would they offer me as a trade in.  ;)

Allon,  Darn, the smilie for bending over and taking it in the rear isn't available on this site.  The shops are full of used bikes and in my experience they are going to seriously low-ball guys like us that use their bikes for their intended purpose. :violin:  better off droping the price every week until sombody gets a sweetheart deal.   GL with your sale.

Allon,

I haven't sold the SV yet, it seems strange that only a couple people have looked at it.  I dropped the price again yesterday.  The people who look at it are impressed with how it is put together.

3.  If you are on a highway where 45 is dangerous, then plant your butt on the back of a truck (but not too close so you can't react.)  Yeah, I know you will say that there is still a chance a deer can come directly at you from the side.  Not much I can do about that beside avoid the highway altogether and take a county road where I can go slow.
Gary Eagan did this on his cross Canada speed attempt.  He said it worked until he started getting sprayed with moose guts from the moose the truckers would hit!

There is a place in Eagan that has sewn up my A-Stars twice.  They do nice work for $16 per boot, but they sometimes have a bit of an attitude.   I would recommend them.
In the strip mall at Cliff and 35E With Target and Cub.  They are a few doors down from Cub.

Tony,

Best of luck for a speedy recovery!!!   Did they do any cosmetic surgery on you while they were there - should I be looking for a 20 year younger Tony at First Thu? ;)

Not too encourging. What about low end torque? more than the SV?

Let me know when you are taking it for a test ride at Balck Hawk. Hope to get a chance to do a weekend over there this year.

IDK if I'll do BHF again, Fun track but crazy riders at NESBA that weekend.

Less torque because it is a triple, but I can lug the engine down to 2k and it is smooth.  The power builds to 14 k redline (after break in).

Wow, that's the only bike I can see replacing my SV.
Impression?
2 half hour rides on a Street Triple R can't be consdered a expert opinion, but...

saddle not good for long distance.  bar sweep not as good as SV (will change soon).  engine fueling very even.   great linear power build.  far less engine braking so less stumblewhen rolling off.  great sound track. suspension is near perfect and has triple adjusters.

I love the whole style except the bug eyes.  I have plans to modify some parts including the headlight.

Oh, and NO WIND NOISE :) off the fairing - my helmet is far quieter.
