General Banter / DiSalvo and Daytona 200
« on: February 02, 2012, 06:22:24 PM »

It looks like last years winner switched to a Triumph. I hope this doesn't mean Ducati is out of the main event.

General Banter / Maybe good news on Deer
« on: January 08, 2012, 01:15:37 PM »
http://news.yahoo.com/northern-plains-hit-hard-deer-killing-disease-153148327.html

To summarize, a disease seems to be taking out large numbers of white tail deer in Montana. With a little luck maybe the disease will spread to MN and WI.

Off Topic / F1 action at Uptown Theatre in Mpls.
« on: September 01, 2011, 10:57:55 AM »
The movie Senna is showing now at the Uptown theatre in Mpls. Covers his career from carts
to his final race in a Williams/Renault. Lots of brief track footage of Senna with Team Lotus and
the Marlboro Mclaren team. Approximately two hours. Highly recommended by me but I'm an F1
fan, not a professional film critic.

The big rig of Triumph bikes will be at Belle Plain Motorsports tomorrow. A few of us did this a
couple years ago. I think I'm going to this. I'll probably be there at the start.

General Banter / Interesting writeup on former TRACKSTAR owner
« on: April 28, 2011, 01:13:17 PM »
The current issue of CITY PAGES has a feature article on the former owner of TRACKSTAR and his financial indiscretions. Interesting read.
There are comments from some of the victims of the scandal (Tom Manley among others). CITY PAGES is free so I don't know how accurate
their investigative juornalism is, take it with a grain of salt. ;D

General Banter / Bad news on the Ducati 848 EVO
« on: December 03, 2010, 01:09:12 PM »
They just did a full test on the US version of the new 848 EVO in Sport Rider. The bike has almost no increase in HP or torque over the base model 848.
They speculate that the bike had to be restricted to get by US noise/polution regulations. The Euro bikes tested in other mags show a significant
increase in HP for the 848 EVO. Expect to spend $$$ in goodies to bring the performance of the 848 EVO up to where it should be. :(

General Banter / New Forum
« on: August 28, 2010, 12:25:50 PM »
So I check the TwistedAddiction.org forum now and then when I'm not here or on ZG. I see a ride posted for Friday (yesterday) launching out of Prescott
at 10 AM. I show up. There are 13 friggin bikes on a weekday ride! Their forum has only been around 2 maybe 3 months max! The ride was not cross
posted. It was a fun, fast-paced twisty ride. How do they get such enthusiastic participation? Or what are we failing to do?

The only reason I login to any forums is to get notice of rides. I don't care about the buy/sell section. I don't care about anything except who is riding
and where and hopefully on a weekday. There is a lot of youthful enthusiasm over on that TwistedAddiction Forum. Wish we had a little more enthusiasm
and participation here.

General Banter / Another bad year at Sturgis
« on: August 11, 2010, 01:28:54 PM »
I'm hearing at least 9 fatalities including an 82 year old guy on 16A. A truck may have crossed the center line and taken out 2 or 3 Iowans on bikes. Anybody
have any links to this stuff?

General Banter / Fuel Management
« on: July 28, 2010, 01:56:06 PM »
On our last MSTA ride we had to make an unplanned fuel stop for one bike in the group. This happened again in a different group.
This is a totally unnecessary delay and also causes discomfort when it is hot. PLEASE people make sure you have a full tank at the
start of the ride!  Superhawks excepted.

General Banter / Pickup rides
« on: June 29, 2010, 02:12:22 PM »
I just want to encourage people to post their rides here. Pickup rides used to drive the old MN-Sportbike forum back when
it was very active. It was common to see a long ride and a short ride or two posted for every weekend plus a weekday ride
or two. Now things are almost dead here. Mark and I are the only people I see posting pickup rides. Just for the record,
MNSBR rides have dropped off to a trickle and their quality is mostly poor. The only thing keeping this forum going is our
MSTA rides, which most people recognize as being well planned and organized rides of high quality. Sadly there are only
one, sometimes two MSTA rides a month. Nudge your friends to organize a ride and post it here (and anywhere else).
The abundance of posted rides on the ZG forum is a big contributing factor to that forums success in my opinion. Their
forum members step up to the plate, show some balls (or ovaries) and get things done. We can do better than we are doing.

Introductions / Intro
« on: March 21, 2010, 02:01:53 PM »
It says to use my real name. I'm Ernest. Nobody calls me that. I go by Tony or TK. I'm mostly on the MN-Sportbike and ZG Forums. I'll miss the MN-Sportbike
Forum :( This forum looks much like the MSTA National Forum, Sportbikes.WS, ZG, Sporttouring.Net, etc.  I'll try to adapt to it.
