So apparently this is back up on the table again after being defeated soundly by the county commision a few years back when it included a motocross track etc ( nothing in the link says anyting about motorcycles being allowed, and the video with trees right up to the edge of the track is all bullshit- no insurance company would insure without tons of runoff room, so that animated bullshit is BS propoganda to sway the stupid into thinking "green spaces" and little disruption to the mini woods already on site)

Mustang club is all abuzz of its potential, but that price tag for membership.......woah

7K for a social membership where basically you can come into the grounds and may never get on track or at best, very limited get on track???
60k initiation and 8k annually for even the lowest of lowly membershsip packages so you know you will get to drive and you can even bring 5 of your closest friends every month to drive with you, woohoo........ a bargain if you have that disposable income I suppose

I do not believe any of those neighbors will have changed their mind (same location and the land is still owned by that farmer) so the residents that live 1/2 mile to 2 miles away will ,likely will still scream and holler about too much noise and get it shut down?
Last hearing on the other configuration 36 people (neighbors) showed up and bitched at the public meeting to the board of the county and they had over 100 other "neighbors" sign some petition of fighting against it...and they succeeded
I doubt their will to fight will be extinquished even if the place is multi million dollar investment and brings people to the deep south metro..........nothing around to make monies and support this place for what 8 miles to Faribault.... (so that would mean more farm land turns industrial with resturants, hotels, fuel stations and more??? - so even more traffic and noise locally there, if they truly want it to be some destination overnight stay type place and events (sure they mention suites and garages and likely would have some sort of dining.......all at inflated ego pricing too I am sure)

I am 3 miles as the crow flies from DCTC and I can hear everytime motorcycles are running there, or cars with loud exhaust systems.........
So I would absolutely hate to be only 1/2 mile or 1 mile away anytime I wanted the windows open and some fresh air or to sit on the deck or patio and enjoy my peace and tranquility (so I understand thier point)

My problem with them is how crappy the quality control is

back 5-7 years ago when I would install them if customers brought them in;
they were out of round,
took excessive amount of weight to balance (when they would balance),
most of them came back with vibration issues or other issues
and even the 'sporty" junk they pitch to the idiots rarely did I see people run them to the wear bars becasue of all the other issues

but I see straightline people --you know the liter+ folks without a clue-- and those who commute to work at a snails pace 1 mile each way think they are a bargain.......... many of whom swear by them all the time

I know for fact I have pulled atleast 40 of them off bikes in the past 12 months that were less than half worn out and replaced them with real quality rubber because even the customers thought they were garbage and needed quality rubber......

Shitco's.... Kenda's and a slew of other junk

I won't install for any amount of money on anyones bikes. Hate those cheap pieces of garbage, but there are obviously tons of people who buy them and ride on them

 FYI...........

Dunlop did extend there rebate deal on tires through the last day of June and the Roadsmart III and Elite 4's are excellent tires for longevity and fun

 Speaking of wasting monies.....

So I had installed a set of Q4's on my street bike just to test them out....... since so many customers ask what kind of mileage they can expect out of them

as new;
6.5/32" is the tread depth above the wear bar

Vince and I did that one ride together a couple weeks ago in the cool and damp at a snails pace apparently (oh wait Vince said I kept cutting him off and block passing him- better catch up on the correct story line... lol)

Well anyways- I was at a snails pace getting excellent fuel economy, Vince was riding his Hardley as hard as he could to keep up- getting shit for mileage

okay back to some reality and facts..........

327 miles on those tires since new
measured tread depth now 4/32" dead on the nuts

So 130.8 miles per .5/32" x 13................looks to be an 1700 mile tire on the street... all things wearing equal (which we all know there are variables)

gheesh, That is actually better than I expected..... I thought Sundays ride might do it in actually, but 1800 for what it is is very decent...

$140/1800=7.777 cents per mile

Well it is a DOT Race Tire, I didn't expect it to last much over 1000 miles, since I have ridden a couple DOT race tires previously on the street and 1200 is the most I ever got out of them

Just as some comparison.......... The same tire on a very similar bike ridden at a faster pace, significantly so really..... Made it 550 miles on the track wearing out the edges to where you could not even see the first 1"+ of the sipe and a nice big concave portion about an inch upto about 3 inches from the edge

^ So you are saying this site is "not secure" with a red exclamation point next to it and the words "NOT SECURE" (when I look next to the address.)
...

But I do agree, tons and tons of bots crawling the internets skew the viewing numbers

Hell there are days I get over 1000 hits to my own website, but most days ..... well my average per day since opeing it in 2010? is 21 views per day with 14 of those being direct link (they physically typed in my correct website address or went to it via their own saved pages)- so to me I look at is as I have about 14 real visitor to the site each day averaging 3 minutes per ........ I can live with that

Further analysis; On every day I add new posts or pictures that goes up to an average of 186 views that day with 42 of those being direct link (those 42 have an average on site time of 9 minutes and view on average 14 pages)........... I only have and keep about 70 members on the site- all inactive members/non memebers with a screen name get the boot within a few months, so I know it is scrolling bots...or a shit ton of joe schmo from the public can see all but 3 pages, so they could be looking via that way
but when average time on the site is less than 1 minute........ nope they looked at nothing, simply found the home page and left

hell many of those huge days I will actually go in and source how they got to my page and track their IP and location and more than 1/2 are from overseas and were indirectly directly to my site

So one could, if so inclined..... I am sure, one could view the source of every hit, look at the time they spend and even what they looked at while on plus, where they came from and where the IP address is from........... but you'd have to be pretty bored IMO- I generally only do that shit in the winter when I am bored off my ass and making changes to the site etc...

be careful, big brother is watching you and recording you....

Well the member list has been an inflated list for years, atleast 75% of the list has never made a single post nor have they logged in in the past several years, many never since creating the account

There are really only 20 maybe 30 on a good season "active" members and it has really been this way for a decade or more... (same as most every forum out there)

 As far as the industry goes;

I have been as busy as ever and still turn away more customers than I can take in by atleast 3 turned away to every 1 I can take in margin...... But, I am service only end, so not an accurate representation of the market as a whole......
the dealerships I get my oem parts from; one is expanding and adding another line, another recently re-did their entire floor and seems to be thriving as well. I see "hiring" signs at them often

Are their issues in the industry, of course there are.....is the industry dying just because the youth of today would rather play with their xbox controller than go out in the real world and experience mother nature and conquer some of it........ Dying no, slowed growth or gone stagnant I believe so

Bike prices are high and there are so many idgits on the roads not paying attention so people are afraid of being killed/run over etc...... are just two of the reasons I hear often why people either rarely ride or don't ride at all. Lots of those people say they want to ride just don't feel it is "safe"

Lots of sunny weather Sunday only riders that log 1000 miles or less annually (state stats says the average is only about 1200 miles annually) - we should all work to change that stat!

plenty of my customers only really ride with the group of people that perhaps they call "friends" or atleast are thier 'riding buddies' and when those people have family issues or financial issues or move or job stuff it can affect the entire group and their riding can suffer as a result......... I have several customers who used to have people to ride with one evening every week or every weekend but when that changed they now ride far less and some barely ride at all without that dynamic in their lives......

who hasn't felt like this with their computer, cell phone or pretty much any other electronic device................

I love the sledge hammer guy at about 3 minutes in, who keeps a sledge hammer in the office? or perhaps he went out to his car? In any case, that is some funny shit.....

The key to your anger is controlling it and not letting it control you- geeze........... words of wisdom right there folks.

and fyi I am not angry, I simply don't tolerate stupid assholes and make no qualms about calling them out.

A Blonde was down on her luck. In order to raise some money, she decided to kidnap a kid and hold him for ransom.
She went to the playground, grabbed a kid, took him behind a tree, and told him,
“Ive kidnapped you." She then wrote a note saying, "Ive kidnapped your kid. Tomorrow morning, put $10,000 in a paper bag and put it under the pecan tree next to the slide on the north side of the playground. Signed, Blonde.”

The Blonde then taped the note to the kid`s shirt and sent him home to show it to his parents.
The next morning the blonde checked, and sure enough, a paper bag was sitting beneath the pecan tree. The blonde opened the bag and found the $10,000 with a note that said, “How could you do this to a fellow Blonde?”

Here we will switch gears.......... the old battery had actually melted the positive post right off it.

I never saw the battery itself, it was originally towed to a HD shop.

but I did see all the melted lead all over the rear brake fluid resevoir and the bottom of the battery box and even down on the back of the engine/trans to pick out of there before installing a new battery

lead melts at what 650ish degrees...
How much electrcial current has to go through that cable to melt the lead off the battery???

we have an electrician in the house, how much amerage to produce enough heat to melt lead?? and could a loan 14a/hr 220cca battery possibly have enough stored energy to have done it before the battery died?

I am thinking he may have tried jump starting the bike from a running car/truck??? (he is not fessing up to anything)
