Hi All,

I've been lurking on the Yahoo! group for awhile and finally decided to join up here.   I live in Eden Prairie and ride a 2002 SV650 with a lot of different mods.  I'll try to get a picture up soon.

Glad you made it over here. Forget about the pic, show up for some rides!

I'm pretty sure Kyle and Lloyd charge the same low low price for a tire change.

Kyle's in the north metro, Lloyd is in the south. I'd go to whichever one was closer.

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on being the 100th person to join. Looking forward to seeing you on a ride. Seems like more and more FJR's joining.

I'd try Dr. Mudspringer 8465 Plaza Blvd. NE, Spring Lake Park, MN 55432, 763-785-2191 for this kind of work.

They specialize in accessories and accessory installation.

I'm pretty sure EveryDay has it right that the sidewall numbers represent the maximum inflation pressure for a tire.

There are a couple of instances where I could see running a pressure other than the bike maker's recommendation.

If you're on an SV650 or other light weight bike and run sport touring or touring tires which are implicitly designed for a bike weighing hundreds of pounds more than your SV650, you might want to try a lower tire pressure. Conversely if you load the piss out of your bike (eg. your big, your passenger is big and you carry a boatload of stuff), raising your tire pressure above the manufacturer recommended pressure is probably a good idea. Some owner manual will specifies higher pressures for two up riding.

For street riding I'm a believer in following the manufacturer's recommendations. I trust that they are going to make recommendations which maximize performance and minimize risk and have more resources and insight into what works than I do.

Welcome to the forum! Gotta say, I'm a bit disappointed. Based on your username I was hoping to see a Lemans in your stable....

Either way looking forward to seeing you on a ride. Most of the rides run here are done pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so traffic generally isn't a problem, and there are a few folks with schedule flexibility like yours so keep an eye out on the rides forum.

Good to see you here Karl. This back in the day sentiment is making me feel old though.

What happened to the Aprilia?

If no one can catch you, I wouldn't consider you old Ray.  ;D

Glad to see the change over to the new format.

Still have the Aprilia.  It needs an engine after the timing chain went.  Still hunting and saving my dollars.  Hopefully I'll get it back up and running this season.

I know a bunch of guys who are older than me who I can't catch. May be there is something to age and treachery over youth and skill  ;D

Hopefully the new format will reinvigorate the group. Even if it doesn't seeing a post from original members like you and hopefully getting you to go on a street ride will make the changes worthwhile even if the group never regains its original vigor.

Lot of Priller motors on Ebay. There is a 0 mile motor available right now that looks like it came from a bike caught in the Fay Meyer's dealer fire in Denver years ago. Let go of those purse strings and get that street bike going!

I thought so, any ways I hope to get out with you guys this year.  Are there any Saturday rides?

First Saturday ride is the Rivers Ride on 4/24.

There will be more. Just keep an eye on the calendar and the Ride/Event sub forum.
