General Banter / Re: Need help choosing a helmet.
« on: July 11, 2012, 09:27:11 AM »
Pipes - you're talking about the Arai Profile helmet. It's a long oval shape. I
have the same problem with fitting a helmet. I purchased the Profile a few
years ago and while it's  the best fitting helmet I've had so far I still had to modify
it slightly. I think it feels a bit on the heavy side as well. The visor system to
me is such a huge pain in the ass I'd never recommend it based solely on that.

Sometimes it takes about 30 seconds to change it, sometimes I have to futz with
it for 15 minutes, swear at it and walk away. Then come back and it snaps right
in like it's supposed. And I don't want to hear "you're doing it wrong", this is a
common complaint with the helmet. I know a lot of people that solve the visor
problem by never changing it!

I think my next helmet is going to be a Bell Star or a Nexx.

Bike Help / Re: Recommendations for soft luggage on an FZ8

I have the Cortech saddle bags and tail bag system. The tail bag snaps to the
saddle bags or can be used solo. I use them every year when I take my FZ6
on one and two week road trips. I've found them to be great. I also take along
a medium and small cargo net, just in case I find anything along the way I want
to bring home. I don't use the rain covers on the saddle bags, I put a waterproof
stuff sack in each side and use that. That way at the end of the day you can just
take the sacks out and not have to mess with taking the saddle bags off and then
put them back on in the morning.

maybe this is what he's thinking?

Vince just does this shit to get girls to follow him around, and now Kim you want to watch?  Think about it, he's a sly old fox.

Hope, just wait the next windy day, then find a steep decline with the wind
at your back. I'll bet you can hit 100mph!

I hate cancer.

that heinous disease took my beloved younger brother 2 and half years ago.
He was one my best friends and I think of him daily. I was grateful to be there
when he was brought home from the hospital as a baby, and I'm grateful that
he trusted me enough to help take care of him until the end. No grown man
should have to have his sister take care of him that way. Not once did he complain
and always thanked me for taking such good care of him.

cancer if pure evil.

I hope this stays up long enough to see who the winner is to make it to triple digits both plus and minus.

dude, it's "debby" and "brent"!

I feel that Ray (and other moderators) should have permission to give vacations of increasing length based on severity of "lack of civility" and frequency of being uncivil.

I Debby that ^.  but I'm sure I earned a few Brent's from some people for it. oh well.

I'm not convinced on the positive results that the debby/brent system can provide
like a lot of people have stated. I personally don't care how many of either I have. I
don't think that it's being utilized in the way it's intended. I mean, tk has 3 brents?
how is that even possible? And I know there's a few forum members that think I
have no right posting at all. I'm not a full member, and I don't publicly participate
on group rides. But I have personal reasons for that, so instead of publicly attacking
me for it, why not ask me personally? Or just up my brent count, but I like Brent so
I'm fine with that!

I kinda like Vince's like suggestion, and we can call it the rainbows and unicorns button.

I need some help figuring out how to traverse the sand pits, if  you
don't mind helping me with that then I'm game.

I'm with Dale, a step above "totally sucks" on the sand and soft dirt.
