Qual was weird for this one, I'd bet Vale will still finish in the top 4. Should be an interesting race for second . I read this week that Ducati was bringing more HP to this round, looks like it worked for at least Ianone...349.6kph through the speed trap!?! 217.2mph, a new MotoGP top speed record .

Welcome! Hopefully this ridiculous weather moves on soon, so real riding season gets here instead of just a teaser day or two at a time.

The first few laps of MotoGP were incredible! Then it got into a familiar rhythm. It may take a rain race to mix the finishing order up. WSBK had a bit of scrambling with a rain race this weekend.
The Honda "customer" bikes are definitely lacking. We could start a separate thread on the ails of AMA right now (not enough mfgs is a bigger prob here than in MotoGP, IMO). BSB (British Superbike Series) is such an awesome series, someone at AMA/DMG needs to study what makes BSB work. I heard from a couple people that the online coverage was better than expected at Daytona, if we don't end up at RA for the AMA weekend, I guess I'll find out. +Wade 8

Just about to watch Qualifying for both MotoGP and WSBK. Typically, for me, qualifying is a better race than the race . I've been a Marquez fan since his Moto2 days...very gifted and exciting to watch. At this point, unless something radically changes soon (other bikes *magically* develop rapidly, injury, other?), the season look likes a rout. But nothing is ever decided until the checkers fly. Rossi outrunning Jorge is unexpected. The Espagaros are also putting on a good show.
Been to a live MotoGP race? I've seemed to have work conflicts for both COTA and Indy for the last couple years...maybe this August a run to Indy will happen? +Wade 9
Bike Help / Re: SHOCK SERVICE« on: February 09, 2014, 05:24:00 PM »
I'll second Glenn at Midnight Motorcycle. He's helped us with suspension service on our race bike (Traxxion certified dealer) and my mini motard (Zhengling forks). Knowledgeable mc guy, skilled machinist, good guy to know for many bike related services. Always interesting projects going on in the shop too.

I liked it. Great insight into a couple of personalities I didn't know anything about. It still got a teeny-bit Days-of-Thunder-y in some parts for me, but I guess the better endorsement would be from my wife, who enjoyed it, and she doesn't like racing.

Jackass. You know how I feel about 125.
Let's see, leave now, mmmm 6 fuel stops, maybe 7, not sure what my mpg is at a steady 7500 RPM (about +2K from the normal v-twin cruising rate)? I may bit a bit late for breakfast at the diner...but not by much. Grab enough of that Ozark Serenity for both of us! Maybe even sneak in a bit of porch sittin' just for me. Thanks for the update! +Wade 13
General Banter / Re: Hot enough for ya?« on: August 26, 2013, 10:37:05 PM »
Saturday from Wyoming to Hastings to have Glenn at Midnight MC true up the front axle for the race bike and some good conversation. Then over the river to Prescott at about 3PM and north to Hudson via Co Rd F. There is an awesome 1.5 miles of that road, otherwise it was hotsuck.
Sunday from Wyoming to Lake Calhoun for Wheels of Italy. Spent about 45 mins there, then whatever was the fastest straightest path home, to hide indoors for the rest of the afternoon, evening, night watching Moto GP, F1, Playstation, anything other than being outdoors anymore. +Wade 14
General Banter / A moment of silence for...« on: August 18, 2013, 10:36:39 PM »
Speed TV, Speedvision, Speed Channel...whatever you knew it as, RIP.
Knew it was coming...but seeing baseball highlights right now on Fox Sports Network, on the channel where Speed lived last time I clicked on it...it is a sad day :\. Really? it's easier to sell commercial slots for sports "news" 'round the clock? Anyone who has watched Speed over the years knows of their questionable programming choices over the last few years. Yeah, they'll still have some motorsports coverage, we'll see. I guess I'm as guilty as any of the demise...already downloaded all Moto GP coverage from the weekend (fantastic race! At one point I planned on going to Indy for it, but a family wedding this weekend prevented that), rather than watching on TV. If only a satellite system in the US offered EuroSport channel...they'd have a new customer. Oh well, maybe something better will come along? +Wade 15
