I do tend to relax my core when I'm riding. I'll catch myself though and correct my posture, but slouching is my default. I'll keep an eye out to see how much I lean on the bars.
All this info has been really helpful guys, thanks again. I've learned a lot from riding posture to pantyhose!

Thanks for all the great tips guys!
I tried Spencers Mods, and they wouldn't touch a bmw seat. Checked out some other seat options and they look great, so I might pick one up after I put a few miles on the one I have.
I'll also try some aerobics every so often. It did seem like I had forgotten how to walk after extended riding, so waking up the lower half is sage advice.
My dad said he used sheep skin before also and it worked well. I may be skinnin' a sheep here before doing any serious trips.
When I went out around the block today I wore some good-ol fasioned Zubas under my armored pants and that made a big difference! I was wearing jeans under them before and I think that'll be the last time I do that. With the Zubas it felt like I was wearing PJ's on the road. Great day for riding up here, btw... 50F!!!

Anyhow, thanks for helping out a greenhorn like myself, I really appreciate it. Mike I'll give ya a call when I have more than 1 hour to myself and my wife lets me loose on the road!  :D

Hello,
Just went for a great 1 hour ride this afternoon up around Hwy 53 north of Duluth today since it was about 50F today! Anyhow, I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a good seat cover? I'm sitting a bit more forward on my new bike than I'm used to and it started getting a bit uncomfortable towards the end of the ride. Specifically, if anyone could recommend a seat cover that would benefit a male, that would be great!
I've scoured the internet in search of a nice seat-cover or pair of padded pants or something, and came up empty-handed. I'm turning to you now, MNMSTA.
Not that I want to have any more kids, but I don't want to be singing soprano after a long ride if you catch my drift.
Thanks for your input!

Thanks for the warm-wishes.
Its funny, I just went past Aerostitch yesterday (Saturday) and they weren't open, but I'm planning on going back. Not quite ready to dump $1k into a suit, but thanks for the tips!
I recently bought a new pair of pants which are waterproof, padded, etc. So now I'm up to a leather jacket, pants, boots, helmet and gloves. Planning on upgrading when money and wife allows.  :)
Ready to get out and ride, this constant snow is killing me!

Hello!
I just upgraded my old Honda Sabre to a BMW K1200rs, and I'm really looking forward to doing some longer trips this summer in the Northern MN area and Wisconsin. Any advice on what to bring / how to prepare / riding gear / etc. is certainly welcome as I'm new to touring. Can't wait for some slightly warmer weather... snow today is not a welcome sight!
