General Banter / Re: Is Aerostitch worth the money??

I have had my roadcrafter for about 5 years with no complaints. I recommend you ride up to Duluth and check out their gear and service for yourself. You get a 10% discount for taking a nice ride and buying in person! I think it is worth the money.

Sold

The photo was from Deals Gap during STAR 2011. One of those roadside photo outfits that sell you your picture over the internet. Did make me look speedier than I was.

Off Topic / Re: Vote For How to Make The Forum More Civil

I think that some people take this stuff way too personally. If you are really into how others feel about you, your riding style, or your personality. A forum about bikes may not be the best place for you to spend a lot of time. If members have comments about my riding skills, I might learn something and other members might benefit from a warning that I am painfully slow to ride with. If the truth hurts, that's too bad. If a forum succumbs to a PC attitude in exchange for openness and expression of honest (even misguided) commentary, why even participate? Really, it is easier to ignore the folks you dissagree with than to get upset by their posts.

I recommend "Shop Class As Soulcraft". Easier to read and digest than Pirsig, but gets to some entrusting territory pretty quickly. Of course if you have the time and really want to untie from the dock, read Zen And The Art Of Motorcyle Maintenance, like the rest of us, it uses motorcycles to take us to places that are fun, interesting, and a little challenging. It is a trip you can enjoy more than once, kind of like a good road.

I have posted a "Honda Racing" perforated leather jacket on ebay. It is in great shape and looks cool, pun intended. Please check it out if you are a size 44.

General Banter / Re: I need a new riding suit

I have had my roadcrafter for a couple of years and except in really hot (90+) weather, it has been great for me. Rain, and snow (2+ inches in Kingman AZ Feb 2009) have not gotten through it yet. It was a little stiff in the first 1K miles or so, but now feels like a 2nd skin. I did "ride there" and get a discount. If you have not been to their store in Duluth you should go. The staff are very helpful and it is a unique setting. A big plus is the chance to ride the road through Jay Cooke state park on the way - both ways. If you aren't tempted to turn around and ride it again I think you are reading the wrong forum, it's that good.

Regarding your leaking suit, I am pretty sure that Aerostich does not want to let you suffer. I bet if you contact them directly they will find a way to fix the issue.
