Bike Help / Re: Powder Coating in MN/WI ?

I ride an FJR, and my nickname (well, one of them) is Elk. I had to come up with a username and my mind blanked.

Always glad to run into a fellow member of the Cervidae family.

Bike Help / Powder Coating in MN/WI ?

(I also posted this to sport-touring.net Region 4)

A buddy of mine who lives in Sartell, MN has a Yamaha SR500 that he wants to strip down to the frame and get it powder coated. Can anyone recommend someone in Minnesota that does powder coating? Obviously I'd prefer a recommendation based on having some work done by them. Thanks.

Reliable cycle.
Exactly so.  Thank you. It was bugging me all day.

General Banter / Motorcycle shop at 2919 Central Ave, Minneapolis?
« on: April 29, 2013, 02:24:26 PM »
In the mid 80s I took my KZ750 to a shop on Central Avenue in Minneapolis for a valve adjustment. I think they were a Kawasaki dealer and a couple of other brands, but for the life of me I can't remember what the place was called. I believe from seeing the building on Google Street View that the address was 2919 Central.

Can someone with a less porous memory than mine help me out?

... I will be on my SV650. My wife is currently looking for a new bike 500-700cc that is 5'4" friendly and less than $3k

Sounds like she's looking for an SV650...

The SV might be a little too tall, my 5' 2" wife couldn't manage to get her feet down on mine.  The Monster 620 is a possibility, there was one on CL recently for around $3k.  Definitely the EX500 would fit the bill, though, and there should be plenty of them for $3k or less.

My "real" name is Mark Olson, I ride an FJR, as well as a Bandit 400 and a VF500F, my wife rides an EX250 which I also ride for hoots from time to time.  We're both signed up for Hedonistic Enthusiasm at DCTC on May 15th so we'll probably see some of you there.

I was an infrequent visitor to the MN-Sportbike mailing list on Yahoo.

Cheers
Mark
