General Banter / Re: Body Position?

Yeah, unless your doing it on purpose to stretch or to try and wear the outside of the tread more, I'd call leaning outside the turn a lazy style or dare I say, uneducated method. I used to do it when I first started because I didn't know any better. I could still ride fast but I wasn't using the machine or the tires optimally.

Do it the right way and the extra cornering allowance you'll get when you lean your body into the turn will pay off as a safety margin if you have to make corrections or need to lean more for a hazard or decreasing radius.

No markers in turn two either, but you will slow down for it. I usually roll off the throttle a little. No brakes. Turn 3 is the first corner with markers and the first heavy braking corner. If you're cooking it you'll be braking from over 140 MPH coming into turn 3. I've seen a lot of guys bite it there. Fortunately, I haven't but I have run off track without a crash. Bit it in almost every other corner though!

No markers and no braking in turn 1 for either long or competition (short) course at BIR. The pavement overlaps in either course so turn 1 is the same section. You'll just be going much faster on the long course because of the long straight before it.

And yeah, I don't brake in turn one but have rolled off throttle a plenty to maneuver around some flying skirts. Some skirts have passed me too! There's some fast skirts in the CRA.

I'll be taking the big girl this year. She's working real nice now. The 675 is saved for race use. Hard to swap out race and street stuff all the time. One day I'll have another street legal sport bike in the garage... that new beemer RR or a Ducati... mmmmm...

I used the Aerostitch camera mount. Clamps securely, but sometimes the angle range is limited as you can see by the lopsided rearview. I couldn't get her mounted vertical back there.

The camera is a Sanyo Xacti VPC-E1 waterproof camera. Shoots nice video but it's old now and falling apart after three years of road use. I'd buy another.
