12V Power Take-Off/Cigarette Socket

I am looking for a cigarette lighter socket to install on my bike to power a GPS and cellphone (not simultaneously).

I can find plenty of socket extensions etc. that I can cut apart and add a fuse holder, but does anyone have a suggestion for a simple fused socket with wither bare wire ends or lugs to connect to the battery?

say buddy, i took the leads for my battery tender and found a plug in socket at orileys maybe that plugs into the battery tender leads. i use to tuck it under the seat of my 650. was under $10. worked great!!

I didn't know that the Battery Tender leads were a standard connector.  I even have extras in the garage.

This is exactly what I needed to know.

Another option thats pretty cheap would be just going to radioshack and picking one up..I got one that I use for my phone charger and GPS, only took about 5 minutes to install, saves you the hassle of ordering online

Having a switched connection is a nice convenience.  Look into tapping into the wire harness somehow, it depends on where the accessory socket is to be installed.  Most aftermarket installs I have seen have been located on the front left tapping into the headlight circuit.

I hadn't thought of Rat Shack.  I'll check.

I also didn't think of a switched connection.  A great idea on a Duc.  They are tough enough to start without draining the battery even a little bit.  On the other hand, I don't know if the CAN system would care or not - it might.

If it is the same CAN-bus system used by BMW, no problem tapping into the headlight circuit to power a GPS and charge a cellphone.  As Dale suggested, powerlet is the way to go.

I assume the BMW and Ducati systems are similar.  If it doesn't bother the BMW, the Duc would probably be fine.
