Yup. I gave the wrong link. Anyway, they need to get a little tougher with
motorists who cause so much damage and injury.

Two hurt in buggy-bike collision

July 02, 2012 12:00 am  •  By Mary Juhl / mary.juhl@winonadailynews.com

ST. CHARLES, Minn. — Two male motorcyclists sustained injuries that were not life-threatening Sunday morning near St. Charles while trying to avoid a collision with a horse and buggy.

One of the motorcyclists was taken by Mayo One Helicopter to a nearby hospital with possible injuries to his collarbone and ribs, according to the Winona County Sheriff’s Department.

The other cyclist injured his arm but was not taken to a hospital from the scene.

The driver of the buggy, identified by a neighbor as a 23-year-old male, was not hurt and his horse appeared unharmed.

“There doesn’t seem to be any sign of racing or anything, just an unfortunate set of circumstances,” said Winona County Sheriff’s Department investigator Rob Averbeck.

The motorcyclists were northbound on County Road 35 at about 9:45 a.m., and Averbeck said they slowed upon seeing the buggy. The horse then spooked and reared it’s legs, and both drivers lost control of their motorcycles while breaking heavily.

A group of about 15 people gathered at the scene after the collision.

“We heard (motorcycles) on the road and see him on the road,” said Orla Yoder, a neighbor of the buggy’s driver who came to the scene shortly after the crash. “We knew something had happened.”

The St. Charles fire, ambulance, and police units also responded to the scene.

Ralph - July 02, 2012 5:00 am".....they slowed upon seeing the buggy. The horse then spooked and reared it’s legs, and both drivers lost control of their motorcycles while breaking heavily."

Typical Harley morons. Photos looks like they were cresting a hill. Probably blasting their loud pipes as they down shifted. Then panic when the horse reacted. With the high "ape hanger" handle bars and a Harley biker's usual ignorance of how to use their front brake, no wonder they ended up eating asphalt.

From the comments section of the article.....lol
What you just read is based on my experience and the info I have acquired during my life. Yes, I post long responses regularly because I like to fully explain my views. If you don't like it or agree with what I have to say; ignore it. I HATE LIARS ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO PRETEND TO BE YOUR FRIEND!

2 Hospitalized After Motorcycle Hits Truck in Chisago Co.

Two people are in the hospital after their motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck in Chisago County Saturday afternoon.

The Chisago County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of 347th Street and Oasis Road.

According to authorities, the 16-year-old driver of the pickup truck had been parked on the shoulder of Oasis Road when he turned east on to 347th Street in front of the southbound motorcycle.

It appears the driver of the motorcycle attempted to avoid the pickup, but hit the driver's side rear quarter of the truck.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old Chisago City man, was taken to Regions Hospital in serious condition. His passenger, a 24-year-old woman from Stacy, was hospitalized at Regions in critical condition.

Authorities say they were not wearing helmets or other protective gear.

Neither the driver of the pickup nor any of his three adult passengers were injured.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
