2 half hour rides on a Street Triple R can't be consdered a expert opinion, but...

saddle not good for long distance.  bar sweep not as good as SV (will change soon).  engine fueling very even.   great linear power build.  far less engine braking so less stumblewhen rolling off.  great sound track. suspension is near perfect and has triple adjusters.

I love the whole style except the bug eyes.  I have plans to modify some parts including the headlight.

Oh, and NO WIND NOISE :) off the fairing - my helmet is far quieter.

Not too encourging. What about low end torque? more than the SV?

Let me know when you are taking it for a test ride at Balck Hawk. Hope to get a chance to do a weekend over there this year.

IDK if I'll do BHF again, Fun track but crazy riders at NESBA that weekend.

Less torque because it is a triple, but I can lug the engine down to 2k and it is smooth.  The power builds to 14 k redline (after break in).

Ian,
I made the mistake of test riding a street triple R at 8am this morning. I love it. Great engine, very smooth gear shifting. It is the only bike I can see replacing my SV. (Maybe an air cooled Monster  1100)
Did you sell yours?
Anybody interested in a first generation (One of the first in the country) SV650S? The only bike I ever bought new over 9 years ago.
Will help me pay for a down payment on a  Speed triple R.  :)

Allon,

I haven't sold the SV yet, it seems strange that only a couple people have looked at it.  I dropped the price again yesterday.  The people who look at it are impressed with how it is put together.
