New to the internet
« on: August 17, 2012, 07:17:08 PM »
...wait  :o, just new to this site!  I'm no stranger to teh interwebs, or to motorcycling.

I am a MN native who recently "retired" from the US Air Force (enlisted for 21 years).   Been a life-long rider, starting on a Briggs & Stratton 50cc mini-bike, and working my way through the various makes/models one at a time.  I currently have an '05 R1150RT, which I will ride until the day the wheels fall off.  I'm also very slowly restoring my Dad's old Honda CB750, which sat in a shed for a decade....a full teardown & rebuild is in progress, I hope to put more time into that project once the snow flies.  I was an MSF RiderCoach from 2003-11...took 2012 off, but hope to get back into that next year.  I co-founded Chapter 22 of the Green Knights (www.greenknightsmmc.org), and was privileged to serve as Chapter President for a couple years.  I have a horrible optical affliction though: I do not see speed limit signs.  That probably popped up during my time spent in EuroLand, as they turned a blind eye to <cough> minor speed infractions <cough>.

I'm a motorcyclist vs. biker.  A combination scofflaw speed freak & safety nut.  I'm hoping this group will be a good fit for me.  I guess you can sum it up as I'm here looking for good roads & fun rides...  glad to be here.

Anybody know of any good twisties around Alexandria?

Welcome to the site MotorEric,
I used to live in Alex late 70's now/then I still come up, for nice riding areas is north/west of Alex, ride to Otter Tail Inspiration Peak mountain, Maple state park north of Fergus Falls also by Battle Lake's area but most of these county roads are straight  has some 55m/h curves, it would be fun to ride during fall's leafs colors changes. But if you wanted more twisties roads continually? Wisconsin is the best areas to goes. Any places from Bay City all the ways down to South/Western Wis.

Welcome! I'm still doing the MSF thing also. I have one more class scheduled this season. It will probably be cancelled though :(

So I'm not the only one! Does this mean there's a cure?  ;D  Welcome Erik!

God, I hope there's not a cure!  I have a little stuffed moose that watches my speedometer for me, so I don't have to.
