Just got back and had a great time.  :)

I bet quite a few of you have ridden this, and if you go again I'd have to recommend staying at the Eagle Harbor Lodge; great place!

I also snapped a good shot for my background screen to help get me through the Winter:

Nice place to go ridding. I have been there many times. So you stayed up in Gouge Harbor. That's what we call it because of the prices. We always found the price for food and gas way to high so we stay in Houghton.

I'd like to go back for sure!  26 and 41 are loads of fun; BEAUTIFUL scenery too.

As far as pricing... I found everything to be pretty fairly priced.
Lodging was only $35 a person, and breakfast was $5-$7 at a sit down restaurant.  Not too bad, eh?  Maybe?

I did some research before we left, and asked the locals while we were there to get the skinny on the GOOD places.

The Tamarack Inn (restaurant) was recommended to us as "you'll get your money's worth" by the guy that charged us $3.50/ gallon for gas.   :D
I guess it made up for the raping at the pump.

Used to go up there every 4th of July weekend with the wife.  It's a nice change of pace (both riding and lifestyle) and what the roads may lack in quantity the scenery more than makes up for in quality.  We always stayed in Houghton because that's where I went to college and I like to make the rounds to check out all my old bar stools.   :cheers:

One of my main motivations in picking up a KLR was to take it back up to da U.P. and check out more roads like this:

I remember the location in the top photo. The peninsula is soo beautiful. When we were doing the loop and would come upon a car, they would always pull over and wave us by. It was like we were in a parallel universe. Think we will go back this year, K.

Sorry fellas;

I'd LOVE to go on trips again this Summer (had a fun Hudson Bay trip all planned out last year) but I will be staying home ALOT with a new infant due to arrive in June.... and it's my first one, so pray for me, okay?  :D
