looking for pants and need some advise please

Jackets are rev'it ignition and a first gear kathmandu, as some know i ride in jeans and redwing work boots, everything else is good i think. Looking for a pant for rides, not so much commuting. Thoughts are say a rev'it gear or some others, first gear ht air, Olympia air glide3. Looking for feedback from you guys for what works, i know my "regulars" like leather from what is being worn. Venting and comfort is important to me. these are 200+ for the pant or so, would hate to learn 10 feet into something bad that i made a bad choice.

boot advise would be great too, thats next i think. Nothing to crunchy i think though.
thanks so much for the time, and any input would be great.

At that price range I'd say if you like the style and if fits well... go for it.
As far as levels of protection? Let me know how and where and under what circumstances you plan on crashing, and I'll let you know.

As someone who has seen alot of crash testing of pants.......
There is no substitute for leather with proper armour and double stitching and double layer leather in the hips etc....
And you can get good quality ones for anywhere from $130-$300 depending on brand name. I have AGV pants, ( Got them at Kirk for about $130 with the knee pucks, full zipper and 8 inch zipper for different jacket applications.... fyi)

Abrasion or impact?
Did the crash test dummy measure fatigue due to over heating and test range of motion relating to emergency reaction?
You can slug me when I see you later this month.

Tough to recommend stuff like this in my opinion, because fit is a critical factor in this stuff and I doubt anyone here has enough personal experience with all the possibilities out there to offer a particularly well informed decision. From reputation the stuff you're looking at is all considered to be good quality stuff that will probably do a good job so you probably will be happy with whatever you get as long as it fits properly.
With respect to fit, when it comes to over pants, it is critical that you buy pants which place armor comfortably over your knees and hips and that the armor won't rotate out of position in a crash.
With respect to boots, fits is even tougher to figure out. Not only do they have to fit your foot, but also you calves and they have to do so in a riding position as well as when you walk. Although the racing stuff tends to be the most protective, it also tends to be the least comfortable for walking. Ease of entry and closure is also critical. In my experience the only to figure out what works best for you, you've got to try on different boots and get a sense for how they fit and how easy they are to put on and take off. Finally, it is well worth the premium in my opinion to get waterproof boots. Coupled with waterproof jacket, pants and gloves, waterproof boots make it so you don't have to stop for rain, and you don't ever have to carry rain gear.

I have a pair of Joe Rocket Paints that I "tested" in Arkansas last year they held up very good, I paid 175.00 from newenough.com

these are cool in the summer, and with some long underware they were warm in the colder weather, I have a two piece rain suit that I ware over the top.

If your a little on the "tighter budget side" you could always go check out the scratch and dent store for Dennis Kirk in Rush City and see if they got anything you like/that fits. If not, the real dealer for DK is just down the road so you can actually try the stuff on and see if it fits right and such. Got a pair of boots from there and took me 3 times to get the right size, real glad I decided to just drive out there

+1 to what JVS said. Be sure and check out Bob's Cycle. They always have a large supply of pants. I think they are having a sale now.
For me they are right on the way to Dennis Kirk so I can hit both places without going out of my way.
